About those pictures you're mass-uploading...[edit]

Please check before uploading whether the wiki already has those images or not. I suspect the majority of your pictures are duplicate files. One example is the file you uploaded, File:MKnR_v09_24.jpg; if you have looked at that page, the section titled "File Usage" underneath the picture says:

The following file is a duplicate of this file (more details):

Again, please look carefully before mass-importing files! -Akira (talk) 06:10, 16 April 2014 (CDT)

Re: About those pictures you mass-uploading...[edit]

yeah, i know that most of files are duplicates, but i need exact such names of files. we merge two teams working on Russian version of Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei, so exact file names is needed for automatic integration and syncronization of texts on baka-tsuki (for baka-tsuki mahouka team) and our external site (for RuRa-team) --Samogot (talk) 06:24, 16 April 2014 (CDT)

Why don't you use the files which already uploaded? (instead of uploading them again in different names). --Yoyoyo5678 (talk)

Because i need this different names. I can't rename files due to lack of rights. Moreover renaming will affect on other language versions. Also file redirects don't work correctly on embedding --Samogot (talk) 07:19, 16 April 2014 (CDT)

Sorry, I'm still not seeing the point of this. Why are you uploading the duplicate pictures here? Where are you planning to use them? My best guess is that you mean to replace the pictures used in the Russian version of Mahouka with the version you uploaded, or something. (But if that's true, then I feel that's an awfully trivial reason to upload 50+ files. If that's what you meant by synchronizing text, was it really necessary to synchronize that far?) -Akira (talk) 07:45, 16 April 2014 (CDT)
yeah, of course i'll replace images in russian text with new. the main reason is making wiki code on baka tsuki and my site as similar as possible. then bot can copy edits from BTs to our site. but if names of wiki files wil be different then images in text will crash after each synchronization--Samogot (talk) 08:18, 16 April 2014 (CDT)
Then why did you not just upload images onto your site so that those images has the same file name as the ones on Baka-Tsuki? From what I checked, your site has only just started the process of uploading those pictures. I'm not sure why you felt the need to mass-upload them under slightly different names here, unless it was merely out of refusal to do upload to your site manually. -Akira (talk) 08:43, 16 April 2014 (CDT)
Because our site have strict rules of naming files, but baka-tsuki hasn't such rules --Samogot (talk) 08:47, 16 April 2014 (CDT)
Moreover we are planing to translate and typeset text on those images, so most of files become different from other language versions
I'll grant you that typesetting into your own language is a valid reason to upload a new file, but that hardly covers the majority of the pictures involved. Also, I don't think it's so much that "baka-tsuki hasn't such rules" than the fact that no one tried to pull something like this before.
Just tell me that the important people working on Mahouka's Russian page knows what you're doing, at least. -Akira (talk) 09:53, 16 April 2014 (CDT)
We know. We ask Samogot to help us. By the way, we a going to clean grayscale images too. Cleaner/Editor Rezel (talk) 10:04, 16 April 2014 (CDT)
