I don't have the power to actually grant that since I am not the project leader for MKnR, larenthian is. If you are interested in joining the project, drop by the Feedback Thread to let larenthian and Seitsuki know. Following that, inscribe your name onto the Registration page next to which chapter you would like to work on. I will not provide RAWs, so do not ask.

Hey Dreyakis! Thanks again for the awesome work. I know you do these translations for fun, but I wanted to ask: would it be okay to send you and some of the other translators/editors on this project a few gift cards or something? Without the Mahouka translators and editors many of us would simply be unable to enjoy a lot of these foreign works. You guys have worked really hard on these translations and I'd love to chance to thank you guys for the awesome job on Mahouka. d4mi3n (talk)

:While I do appreciate the sentiment, we translators are ultimately just that: translators. We do not own the rights to the material and thus should not and cannot receive any profit or benefit from the translations. I am very happy to be able to work on Mahouka and bring it over to an audience that previously was unable to read this, but I will have to turn you down. In fact, the best thing you can do to thank us is to head on over to the Appreciation Thread in the Mahouka forums and tell us. do you know why these chapters seem shorter than the others?

How do you measure your progress (as in (82/96))? As it is obviously not percent, is it lines (I doubt that), paragraphs, pages or something different?

Hello, Drey! You are doing a new project what is it? Will you continue Mahouka as well? Ulrick 24/05/2014

So you're doing one of the Fate series huh? Sounds nice but I still have to ask are you going to be working on Mahouka volume 13? Because it's been out for a while. Though I do recall mention of this being the series first release of the volume as an actual book first rather than it being updated as a webseries first and how that would somehow effect the speed of the translation but still I'd like to know if you are working on it or could give a rough estimate on when you might be planning on working on it

Hi Dreyakis, I would like to inform you that I'm creating audio versions of your translated work on Mahouka for Baka-Tsuki.

If you would prefer that audio books not be created using your translated work please contact me when possible. SilentNumber 3:23, 16 July 2014 (CDT)

Hi Dreyakis, now that Yen Press has licensed the series, do you plan on continuing the translation? Like finishing V14 and keep on going from there and posting somewhere else? If so, where can we find it?

Hey man I know you put in all this work to Translate and now Mahouka Koukou No Rettousei has been licensed. Now we won't be able to keep re-reading the light novels until they release the Volumes over the next like 5 years. Is there any site or anyway that you can send copies of the Volumes to emails so that we as the Fans of your work and of Mahouka Koukou No Rettousei. Is there anyway that we could get the PDF of them and be able to Re-Read the Volumes at anytime we want cause i love your work and this series and for US(Me especially) to have to wait 5 years for YenPress to catch up is just too long without reading it. If you can't i understand but if you could I know not just me but countless others would be grateful for that. Also i think id be a shame for all your hard work to go to waste just sitting on your computer.

Do you know of anywhere I can read the newest volumes in English now that yen press has licensed it or am I going have to make do with detailed spoilers till they get to volume 14 or 15 to finish it up.

Hmm this section seems a bit lonely so thanks drey for all the good work.

thank you for all your hard work

Thanks for translating, but Please finish the last chapter of volume 5, I've been waitin for like 20 months to continue reading this series and I'm honestly starting to hate this series due to not being able to continue it

Sorry if I'm unreasonable but fuck this is horrible

Volume 5 is a compilation of short stories and is not part of the main storyline. You can skip this and proceed to volume 6.

Hey Dreyakis, just wanted to say thanks for taking up translating Tenkyou! I look forward to reading your translations again xD
Nope, Its Volume 5, not 4.5 or SS

Hey Dreyakis sorry to ask you, so soon after you taking up Tenkyou, but did you have permission to translate from Veracitea? i though that Veracitea wanted to work on this project alone.

:Well you should ask Veracitea just in case though, since sometime ago there also a translator who wanted to work on this project but refused by Veracitea, though if there are more translator it'll be great, much more release yo! :D

You don't need to worry about that, Drey and Anon. I've been corresponding with Vera since day 1 via email. I was the one who invited her to work on this project in the first place. A few months back, I already talked to her about the possibility of a few translators joining, myself included, and she acknowledged it. Here's snap of our conversation:
Yeah, but other than the last chapter (Presidential election), its really just a bunch of side stories that have little impact on the main story line (and by little I mean virtually none). Besides all that's left is an unfinished chapter about a side charachter that hasn't been used other than an extra (like people in movies that are there just for the sake of the feel/mood) SXIII (talk) 19:11, 23 June 2014 (CDT)

Hello, this is Vera! I'm sorry that I'm late to this conversation (I hadn't realized that you had commented on my page a couple months ago.) I really would appreciate the help in translating Alderamin. I'm currently finishing up Volume 2 Chapter 2, which I'll have out hopefully by next week. If you are still interested in translating, can I ask you to start from Volume 2 Chapter 3? I'll start from Chapter 4 to give myself more time, because I'm expecting to be quite busy over the next couple of months. I look forward to working with you! And the next time I don't respond within a week, please contact me a second time because chances are the message somehow didn't reach me the first time.

Hello, Dreyakis!! I just want to know, are you still translating or abandoned it? Well, if you abandoned it, then i will try to get some help from other translator. Anyway, thanks from your translation! *Bow --RozenMaiden

Questions and Answers[edit]

1. Are you working on the light novels or the web novels? What's the difference?

I'm working from the Chinese translations of the light novels. The web novels were published before the light novels, but the light novels contain more content in terms of character development and extra scenes. In addition, some lines in the web novels were toned down in the light novels. (And there's more fanservice in the light novels.)

2. Hey, dude, the chapters are out of order! Why did you translate Chapter Y before Chapter X?

Simply put, because someone signed up to do Chapter X before I did. Translators work at different speeds, so some chapters may come out ahead of the others. Everyone works at their own pace, so give them some time.

3. So when's your next chapter coming out?

If I got a dollar every time someone asked me this, I would be able to do this for a living. Click on the User Page tab on the top left corner and you will find my progression on the latest chapter as well as a rough estimate on when the chapter will be complete. And, no, it has been scientifically proven that asking me to work faster/harder does not improve translation speed. I am working off of PST in California, so do take that into account when looking for the new chapter on my update days.

4. Are you going to translate all the volumes?

Until otherwise stated, yes.

5. I got the chapter summaries from somewhere else, may I post them in the forums?

Please don't. Last I heard, the chapter summaries flying everywhere absolutely killed all motivation for the translators. So...... Please don't. Please.

6. I have more questions that you haven't answered here!

Drop me a line in the comments section below. If I can't answer it, go ahead and take it to the Feedback Thread on the forums.
