I don't have the power to actually grant that since I am not the project leader for MKnR, larenthian is. If you are interested in joining the project, drop by the Feedback Thread to let larenthian and Seitsuki know. Following that, inscribe your name onto the Registration page next to which chapter you would like to work on. I will not provide RAWs, so do not ask.

Hey Dreyakis! Thanks again for the awesome work. I know you do these translations for fun, but I wanted to ask: would it be okay to send you and some of the other translators/editors on this project a few gift cards or something? Without the Mahouka translators and editors many of us would simply be unable to enjoy a lot of these foreign works. You guys have worked really hard on these translations and I'd love to chance to thank you guys for the awesome job on Mahouka. d4mi3n (talk)

:While I do appreciate the sentiment, we translators are ultimately just that: translators. We do not own the rights to the material and thus should not and cannot receive any profit or benefit from the translations. I am very happy to be able to work on Mahouka and bring it over to an audience that previously was unable to read this, but I will have to turn you down. In fact, the best thing you can do to thank us is to head on over to the Appreciation Thread in the Mahouka forums and tell us. Would you be willing to pick up other projects in addition to mahouka? Since i've been wanting to read a couple of novels for a while, only to find translations either not going on or going painstakingly slow. If you'd be willing to translate hataraku maou-sama or mondaiji, that would be amazing. -Anon

Thanks a bunch for the translation of the new chapter. Well then, I'm off to read it.

Thanks for the newest chapter. Haha, I noticed the 212 was bold, that's a lot of pages.. good luck :D. You sir, seem to be in turbo mode recently, much appreciated for such fast good quality translations.

Yep, you seem to be in ultra mega turbo mode, you should keep your hands and arms safe, xmas and new year are coming, and you need to open gifts, raise a toast, make snow angels (sand angels if you are in the south hemisphere xd) or maybe sandwiches... I don't really know. The thing is Thank You for making me and a lot of people happy.

Damn Drey, I know these are relatively short chapters but you have been translating religiously these past couple of weeks. Thank you so much for your hard work!! :D 207.254.244.56 14:16, 13 December 2013 (CST)

You don't need to worry about that, Drey and Anon. I've been corresponding with Vera since day 1 via email. I was the one who invited her to work on this project in the first place. A few months back, I already talked to her about the possibility of a few translators joining, myself included, and she acknowledged it. Here's snap of our conversation:
Thanks for the work. Have a Happy New Year!

holy sheet ... I think it is around one and a half since you've taken mahouka translation project. I'm scared to even think about number of pages you translated and how much man-hours it took ... and yet you are here again with new chapter for us to enjoy. Thanks a bunch for all the hard work you have done so far, merry xmas & happy new year >.>

Hello, this is Vera! I'm sorry that I'm late to this conversation (I hadn't realized that you had commented on my page a couple months ago.) I really would appreciate the help in translating Alderamin. I'm currently finishing up Volume 2 Chapter 2, which I'll have out hopefully by next week. If you are still interested in translating, can I ask you to start from Volume 2 Chapter 3? I'll start from Chapter 4 to give myself more time, because I'm expecting to be quite busy over the next couple of months. I look forward to working with you! And the next time I don't respond within a week, please contact me a second time because chances are the message somehow didn't reach me the first time.
Thanks a lot man for your awesome translation, I hope you have a fantastic new year.

Hello, Dreyakis!! I just want to know, are you still translating or abandoned it? Well, if you abandoned it, then i will try to get some help from other translator. Anyway, thanks from your translation! *Bow --RozenMaiden
Happy new year from Germany. Your speed is amazing.

Questions and Answers[edit]

1. Are you working on the light novels or the web novels? What's the difference?

I'm working from the Chinese translations of the light novels. The web novels were published before the light novels, but the light novels contain more content in terms of character development and extra scenes. In addition, some lines in the web novels were toned down in the light novels. (And there's more fanservice in the light novels.)

2. Hey, dude, the chapters are out of order! Why did you translate Chapter Y before Chapter X?

Simply put, because someone signed up to do Chapter X before I did. Translators work at different speeds, so some chapters may come out ahead of the others. Everyone works at their own pace, so give them some time.

3. So when's your next chapter coming out?

If I got a dollar every time someone asked me this, I would be able to do this for a living. Click on the User Page tab on the top left corner and you will find my progression on the latest chapter as well as a rough estimate on when the chapter will be complete. And, no, it has been scientifically proven that asking me to work faster/harder does not improve translation speed. I am working off of PST in California, so do take that into account when looking for the new chapter on my update days.

4. Are you going to translate all the volumes?

Until otherwise stated, yes.

5. I got the chapter summaries from somewhere else, may I post them in the forums?

Please don't. Last I heard, the chapter summaries flying everywhere absolutely killed all motivation for the translators. So...... Please don't. Please.

6. I have more questions that you haven't answered here!

Drop me a line in the comments section below. If I can't answer it, go ahead and take it to the Feedback Thread on the forums.
