Battleship Board[edit]

Translator note: I'm sure Koizumi meant Battleship, for I can't think of anything else.

I think the "board" is talking about either a Monopoly board or a Battleship board. I'm pretty sure he's not calling the game "Battleship board"

Yuki Nagato's glasses[edit]

This Nagato wore on her face a pair of glasses which I had no idea when the present Nagato stopped wearing.

umm... wasn't Kyon there and the cause of her stopping wearing her glasses? Am I reading that wrong?

Could she possible be the one in the past?

Isn't that obvious ? DarkoNeko talk 07:17, 12 August 2006 (PDT)

I know shes the one in the past. "no idea when the present Nagato stopped wearing." He knows when the present Nagato stopped wearing, when Asakura tried to kill him.

It probably means she's wearing a different pair of glasses than the pair she was wearing when Kyon met her.

Maybe he just means it's been a longtime since he saw Nagato without glasses...

「いつしか眼鏡っ娘(こ)でなくなった長門が以前にかけていた眼鏡が、この長門の顔に引っかかっていた」 "The glasses that once the Nagato who 'somewhen' stopped being a meganekko wore, were sticked to this Nagato's face"

it's true he says that he doesn't know when (itsushika=itsu no ma ni ka), but the emphasis seems more directed in the meaning that he doesn't want to remember now, hence "somewhen" (i don't speak english frequently so i don't know any more common expression)

typos[edit]

sooth my cynical heart => soothe my cynical heart

appeared with a scene => appeared at the scene

hunk of a boyfriend => hung of a boyfriend

Where'd you get those keys from? => Where'd you get that key from?

in the space of three years => in the time of three years

edit: for the last one, the "error" is actually just as correct and generally used more often (space rather than time to refer to a period of time), as it flows better.

Edit: "Hunk of a boyfriend" is not a typo. Hunk is a slang term for an attractive guy. Anyway, I fail to see how "hung of a boyfriend" makes any sense.
