Mistakes Proofreaders need to look out for[edit]

Also known as しまった (I messed up) I did a false editing on the following stuff:

I removed the capitalized letter and the comma before quote recitals inside of direct speech. But it is correct to have a comma before recited quotes and to have the first letter capitalized. *tehe*

Does this break the neck of the whole story? No. Is it worth my time correcting? Not at the moment. If anyone happens to come around proofreading, watch out for this. -cautr (talk) 13:06, 2 February 2014 (CST)

I also changed my policy on the three dots thingy, as I don't care anymore. :D Which leads to the following changes

[...] --> ...; [...] ...Text --> ......Text; [...] [...] ...Text --> ............Text

So, if whoever starts to read this series comes across those, please feel free to correct them. -cautr (talk) 06:33, 30 March 2014 (CDT)

Misc[edit]

I need better scans for volume 1 --larethian 06:05, 27 October 2011 (CDT)

You'll need illustrations at all... also your story synopsis is weird - a story synopsis isnt a excerpt! --Darklor 01:28, 6 November 2011 (CST)

Didn't get any problems with the part you took out on my pad or phone, what mobile device had the problems?

--Novium 21:24, 25 December 2011 (CST)

Uhm, btw. where is the staff section? --Darklor (talk) 06:50, 27 August 2012 (CDT)

yeah. and btw, is there anyone who'll be doing the translations? It's really interesting :)

Images not in use[edit]

Ore Shura 01 - 0170.jpg Ore_Shura_02_-_165.jpg Ore Shura 03 - 151.jpg

As long as no one minds, I'd like to leave these links here to get these files off the unused file list (the internal links on the project page didn't seem to do it). Once they're embedded as an image, these links can be deleted. --Cthaeh (talk) 22:44, 21 May 2013 (CDT)

English Title[edit]

This is just a comment that bothered me for a while, but is "Too Much Mayhem Between My Girlfriend and Childhood Friend" really the best English title for Oreshura we can come up with? Wikipedia has "My Girlfriend and Childhood Friend Fight Too Much" which is a tad closer grammatically, but I do think the word "Mayhem" is an absolute must. Editing[edit]

If he/she were...

I edited it to "was" in #0-4 Vol. 1, which is BE. As the rest is AE, it's wrong or rather inconsistent. If someone stumbles over those, switch it back where it's wrong. -cautr (talk) 08:39, 25 October 2013 (CDT)

Volume 1[edit]

  • I am nearly done with volume 1, which is a good opportunity to straighten out inconsistent words we have throughout the volume due to different translators. So please mention all that come to mind and I'll try and clean it out. To my mind come:
junior high -> middle school;
Jien Otsu -> ji-en-otsu;
popular and cute -> popucute
(?, no real feedback in the forum, I'd only change it to that on the stuff where
popular AND cute are mentioned tightly together, so when it's about that magazine
stuff;)
class system class 1 -> 1-A
  • These look good to me. The only thing is that I'd standardize Jien Otsu to read Jien-Otsu'. I don't know why the guidelines broke it into three syllables, but in pretty much every translation I've seen, it's been broken up into two (it's pronounced with all three though) and Okashira will edit it into the two. Basically, let's standardize it into Jien-Otsu with the single dash. Executive decision. :D Cloudii (talk) 20:58, 30 October 2013 (CDT)
  • Also please check the footnotes! Check if all of those really are necessary on one hand and if yes, informative enough for the average English reader to make a rhyme out of it. There are also more references needed, namely links with more information on the topics. Someone with more insight on the various topics than me should do that. -cautr (talk) 13:32, 26 October 2013 (CDT)
  • Also, please keep the footnotes classy for the neutral reader. Everything that's important, but not more than necessary. -cautr (talk) 14:57, 26 October 2013 (CDT)
  • I honestly don't have the time right now to re-read all of the early volumes to see where more footnotes are needed. :C I've gotten rather busy again. When I get time, maybe around winter break, I'll start checking them comprehensively, but for the time being I'll trust your judgement. If there's something urgent or something you're not sure in meaning, leave it in the talk page and I'll take a look at it. We're all operating rather independently, so in general I won't be able to check things unless you bring them up. I simply don't have all that time. xD Cloudii (talk) 20:58, 30 October 2013 (CDT)
  • That's not what I meant. Just the already existing references. Like what they say in Kanji etc., people on an ePUB for example click on a ref., expecting something crucial and they get something they can't make head or tail of anyway. I already deleted the really obvious and dups. The rest of the already existing refs should be checked by you. I'll then try and edit them into some standardized format after you're done. -cautr (talk) 11:33, 31 October 2013 (CDT)
