Elkin: I don't mind italics- didn't include any purely because there weren't any (or equivilent) to speak of in the original.

Also, I'm thinking of changing his name to Ronny. More sinister name, no? Demon doesn't strike me as someone particularly frivolous.

Ermazing: Yeah, I think Ronny looks better. It's hard to translate from light novels sometimes because they're so utterly Japanese, like when they switch from kana to kanji, hiragana to katakana on purpose, and there's no way to translate that...

Gerd VS Gred VS Gretto

Discussed this with Janice (a translator here, mod of the Baccano! LJ comm)- she says it's Gretto, which means 'greed' in Italian... if memory serves me right.

-Hm, that may be, but I can't picture Maiza's brother being called 'Greed'.... Where was Maiza from originally? I looked up the name 'Gerd' and it says it's Scandanavian (It's a girl's name, though).

I'll go check this out once I get home. Think it's meant to be like "let's get on with the real story" line. Right I checked- 'soshite' means 'and' rather than 'and thus'. Maybe remove the comma...
