No, a better way to put it would be "locked it away", but I would like to preserve a certain nuance that reminds the reader of sealing a demon.

Good catch. It's not the same, though, but they start the same way. One of them is "piercing through someone" and the other one is "glaring at someone".

But everything aside, having seen my looks in sixteen years, I couldn't care less about empty phrases.
