Fuck you. Vanant (talk) 21:38, 18 August 2014 (CDT)

Well here's my little rant enjoy

Let's list out what happened. First, you didn't ask for permission from the person who was registered to do the chapters whether you could post, that's where it went bad. Second, you blatantly wrote Hijacked by anon on the registration page, well now that's a dick move. Third, on Vanant's DA page here's a comment you made, "Some random anon on /a/ translated 128/129 so all I did was copypasta them for him. If you want to put the parts you've already translated over his, I don't think anybody would complain." which in my opinion and a couple of others that I've seen basically says f you and all your hard work on translating. Fourth, you don't seem sorry at all and instead of just letting it go, hey I'm going to be an ass and debate on Oni's talk page over whether what I did was right and look up technicalities like it's a damn rulebook ,because however much you try to justify it you didn't register or ask for permission to upload the content. I'm pretty sure anybody would be pissed if all of the time and effort put into something which could have been put somewhere else was denied by someone else. I don't know japanese or how bad translating is but I do know English and so I go and basically proofread through chapters of MT or I used to until every time I did that I'd get a damn edit conflict message which annoyed me so much I quit doing it and that's basically an hour or two at the max. Now imagine sitting there working 9-16 hours or w/e the time period translating something getting all excited cause it's such a great chapter and then come to find out somebody has done it and posted it, squandering all the effort used. So yeah my first rant is over and done with, hope you're happy for pissing off one of the people who contributed the most to this project. These are my thoughts on the matter, sorry for the language. Still not sure how this talk this is supposed to work. Am I supposed to reply at your talk or mine? I'll do it here for now I guess.

Referencing the contributor agreement: http://www.baka-tsuki.org/project/index.php?title=Baka-Tsuki:Contributor_Agreement , the default project conventions: http://www.baka-tsuki.org/project/index.php?title=Baka-Tsuki:Project_Conventions , and the specific registration page: http://www.baka-tsuki.org/project/index.php?title=Mushoku_Tensei:Registration_Page , I couldn't find anything that says to request permission from the registered user before uploading translations. I checked these before uploading. This 'rule' seems to be an unspoken rule that a new user like me would not know about. There exists rules and guidelines for registering chapters for translation, but I am not a translator. I did not translate these chapters. I, as per the written rules, received permission from the external translator to upload his work. If the registered TL wanted to overwrite it, he could-- because he's the registered one. If he wanted to remove it, he could-- because he's the registered one. It's possible I got something mixed up somewhere because of the use of the terms "registered user" vs "anonymous user" in the rules. I thought that by registering an account I was a registered user, and thus could upload material. I then went to the registration page and let him know that another person did the translations already. The registration page showed that he was barely into 128 and hadn't started on 129, and it seems nobody had told him about it yet. How would you feel if you started working on something that somebody else already did because nobody told you about it? The sooner I got the message to him, the better. Hiding it from him wasn't going to change the fact that somebody else already did it.

Apparently I was supposed to use the talk page instead to let him know about this, but I didn't know what that was, how to use it, or that that's what I was supposed to use at the time (I was looking for an email or actual PM system but didn't see one). My bad I guess. Try to help people out and they go tell me to fuck myself. Try to explain what I did, why I did, and where I was coming from, and get met with something even worse. --Deadgye 2:20AM 19 August 2014 (EST)
