Hi, I would like to ask about 2 parts in Part 1.

First, "Sorry, the short sword is more of my specialty", is there a mistake here because I thought that Kamito is more used to using the long sword, I could be wrong though.

Second, "Fianna was suspended in midair as she writhed, but she was helpless spirit opponent. " Maybe there are some words missing here? The sentence's flow is not smooth.

Thanks for the translation again :D. Zakashi 10:38, 6 July 2012 (CDT)

It's correct, probably something relating to his assassination training/skills. Or, should I use the word dagger?

2nd: Yep, I missed out something, actually I missed out quite a number of things with weird typos here and there all together, haha. --KuroiHikari (Talk | ) 10:45, 6 July 2012 (CDT)

Please provide original j-text for cross-checking. Zero2001 - Talk - 11:07, 6 July 2012 (CDT)

I'm pretty certain about the line, anyway, my mistake was that I missed out some words for 2nd.

My only doubt is should I keep 短剣 as short sword or use dagger? --KuroiHikari (Talk | ) 04:37, 7 July 2012 (CDT)

Well, in my opinion if I interpret it as Chinese, it would be "short sword" and definitely not "dagger", but in Japanese it could have a broader range of meaning. In chinese, dagger would more likely be translated as "匕首".

Edit: I just checked the chinese translation (never went there before to spoil myself, I prefer reading light novels in english), the translation gave it as a short sword, "短剑", well it could be a case of the chinese translator just taking it literally, it's up to you. :DZakashi 05:17, 7 July 2012 (CDT)

Actually, the exact word that means dagger is 懐剣. So, I guess I'm keeping it as short sword. --KuroiHikari (Talk | ) 05:28, 7 July 2012 (CDT)

I checked google translate. Tanken can also mean dagger, dirk or short sword. I think Dirk would be a good choice here. See the link and you'll understand. Zero2001 - Talk - 05:36, 7 July 2012 (CDT)

Just a note, if we change "short sword" here, we may have to change it in the previous chapter in Volume 1 (Chapter 6), whereby when Kamito initially summoned Est, it was "a short sword" Zakashi 05:41, 7 July 2012 (CDT)

I think I'm sticking to short sword, it's good enough, since "The term short sword or shortsword has been used refer to a number of weapons intermediate between the sword and the dagger"(from wiki), and that it's the literal meaning. --KuroiHikari (Talk | ) 07:56, 7 July 2012 (CDT)

There's more to translation than literal but if that's what you want. Zero2001 - Talk - 08:20, 7 July 2012 (CDT)

I know that, but this is just a noun, not a sentence, not an expression. So, if I can get a 1-1 noun, that's the best. Dirk seems more of a type of dagger. In this kind of uncertainty, I'm not going to make any assumptions and use a 1-1 noun. --KuroiHikari (Talk | ) 11:00, 7 July 2012 (CDT)

Dirk fall in both the dagger and short sword categories. But anyways I already said if you want to do it that way then fine. So when will the rest of the chapter be uploaded? I'm itching to help by editing. Zero2001 - Talk - 15:10, 7 July 2012 (CDT)

Seems to me like elementary should mean something like a first year student/freshman yes? Do you think that would be a better substitute? Because elementary student gives the impression of small kids going to school, if you know what I mean haha. -- Royaloyalz (talk) 19:52, 3 March 2013 (CST)

There was no one, who could release this as an elementary student.
