I'd leave the info on the project page as is, though I might add a note about the change over the coming week. For new readers, it's a good place for them to get acquainted with the characters, and a mismatch between the beginning of the novels and the page could confuse them. Is it gondur San or göndul san

It's "Göndul-san", though I'd say that "Gondul" is probably acceptable as well. zxzxzx (talk) 11:46, 2 October 2018 (CEST)

:Ok. SO I got in contact with Code-Zero/NoMan and he has acknowledged that Pailingual is the correct reading. I'd be willing to begin making the edits if everyone is on board with it but since I'm an active translator I would prefer if an editor offered to do it (B-T policy even encourages translators to avoid editing themselves). == Slashdog novel ==

So with the release of the new Slashdog novel, which is essentially the same as the web novel with added illustrations and minor alterations, I plan on transitioning the current version to match the novel. I haven't quite decided how I want to handle cases where the wording changed from one version to the other, but my current inclination is to go with the novel version both here and on my blog, with myblog perhaps containing notes of where changes have been made. --JeruTz (talk) 23:03, 16 November 2017 (CET)

A short update on the Slashdog LN. First of all, it has been confirmed (or so I've been told) that Slashdog will be getting its own LN series, with the next volume coming out in about a month. As for the first volume, I have reviewed up through chapter 3, which puts me at about 45% completion. While there haven't been many major changes, I have found numerous areas where my previous translation wasn't as accurate as I would've liked it to be (the web novel was my first project after all) so there are quite a few differences in the translated version.

The big question now though is how to go about posting it. I've essentially come up with 4 possibilities:

1. Replace the web novel version in its entirety and continue posting Slashdog volumes under the DxD project.

2. Replace the web novel translation as above but retain the PDF and EPUB links for the web novel version.

3. Leave the web novel as is and add the LN version in addition to it (though I'd recommend notices to help new readers avoid any confusion).

4. Create a separate project page for all the Slashdog light novels and include a link in the DxD project description (and vice versa).

Personally, I'm leaning towards options 2 or 4, but I would like to hear (or read as it were) what others feel is most appropriate.--JeruTz (talk) 00:49, 11 February 2018 (CET)

Practically speaking, creating a separate project page for Slashdog is the best choice, with a link in DxD project page. However, since the story is just a side story completely connected to DxD, and if the no. of LN is expected to be 2-3, then it's better to just create space for Slashdog LN in DxD page itself. The choice is completely dependent on how you(as a translator) and Project Manager feels about it. I will recommend using the same page, as the readers will ultimately be the current DxD readers ... --Robinhood1 (talk) 15:56, 11 February 2018 (CET)

About Slashdog Volume 1
So I wanted to give an explanation for how I will be posting the 1st volume of Slashdog (not to be confused with the web novel). I have decided to, at least for the moment, upload this volume as separate from the web novel version. The main reason for this is to preserve the web novel version for anyone who may wish to read it and compare. Additionally, while there were only a small number of major changes between the Japanese versions, my translation skills have advanced since I first translated the web novel, which I used to improve numerous areas of the translation. As a result, it is far more convenient for me to upload my current version and merely format it than it would be edit my changes into the existing version (and that's before considering all the edits that have been made since uploading the web novel).

I will add a notice directing new readers to the LN version, which has a higher quality translation, to avoid any confusion. I recommend that editors focus on the LN version as well.

On the off chance any editors feel so inclined as to try to update the web novel translation to reflect the improvements in the LN version, I would like to briefly explain what kind of changes currently exist between the versions and which ones reflect changes in the Japanese:

1. There are a few areas of significantly altered or additional text in the JP LN version. The only major ones are in the prologue where it discusses Tobio's parents, the epilogue where it mentions the Church, and a brand new segment added to the end of the LN. I advise that these changes NOT be added to the WN version.

2. There were numerous lines of narrative and occasional dialogue that were removed in the LN version. These are typically extraneous and unlikely to be missed, but I still recommend leaving these as is in the WN. These deletions were more common in the earlier chapters.

3. Many of the differences between the versions will likely be my own improvements to the translation. Some of these might seem minor but there are several that alter the meaning of the sentence. As an editor, I would focus my efforts here.

4. There were a number of changes in the JP that amounted to either minor grammar changes/corrections or altered phrasing. Many of these aren't reflected in my translation since the meaning is the same, but a few are. That said, I wouldn't worry about trying to preserve these differences as they are too difficult to specify without both version of the JP in front of you.

I apologize if this has gotten a bit long. To summarize, I will be preserving the current WN version for the present. That said, I won't object if people decide to remove the WN altogether. --JeruTz (talk) 02:41, 29 May 2018 (CEST)

High School DxD Zero
I've been wondering: while zxzxzxz is short handed (busy with other things) at the moment, who will translate High School DxD Zero when the High School DxD HERO BDs will be out? --Sindbad DKDK (talk) 23:39, 22 July 2018 (CEST)

Who will translate High School DxD: Harem King Memorial? Sindbad DKDK (talk) 21:54, 22 September 2018 (CEST)

Things will be translated when a translator decides to and has time to do so. In the meantime, I'd appreciate it if you stopped asking about who's going to translate what. If you're keen to find out, just keep an eye on the translator blogs or on the project registration page zxzxzx (talk) 08:12, 23 September 2018 (CEST)

Most of the Harem King Memorial is a reprinting of EX with an extra information page on the structure of the "other world". What's left is dedicated to character summaries (including the progress of their romance where applicable) and a general discussion with the author and illustrator. In short, there is no new story content in the volume.--JeruTz (talk) 13:54, 22 October 2018 (CEST)
