Wouldn't it be better to use the Chinese names for the characters from Romance of the Three Kingdomsm, I.E. Zhuge Liang (Kongming) instead of Koumei, rather than the Japanese translations? People who don't know the Japanese translations of the names might get confused as to who's being referred.

For anyone reading this confused as to the names, I'll list their names, along with their Style Names in brackets.

Koumei - Zhuge Liang (Kongming); Kanu - Guan Yu (Yunchang); Chouryou - Zhang Liao (Wenyuan); Sousou - Cao Cao (Mengde); Ryofu - Lu Bu (Fengxian); Gien - Wei Yan (Wenchang); Ryubi - Liu Bei (Xuande).

Furthermore the Japanese translations are somewhat confusing as they translate Zhuge Liang's Style Name, rather than his Given/Surname.

  • Addendum; Also, it appears that in Volume 1: Underling, you've used the Chinese name Dong Zhou (Zhongying) rather than the Japanese Toutaku, giving precident to the Chinese names.

"Yeah, since Tatekawa's 'Romance of the Three Kingdoms' is focused on the Wei side a lot of Cao Cao scenes were cut so Zhang Liao doesn't show up much, but he was really amazing. In other adaptations of 'Romance of the Three Kingdoms' he plays a much bigger role and is one of the wisest and best commanders there is."

Is there a mistranslation somewhere? Cao Cao is the ruler of Wei, so any adaptation focusing on the Wei side should show many of his scenes. 71.193.5.220 21:54, 3 September 2012 (CDT)
