How about using "Good-for-nothing Happiness" for 出来損ないの至福 and Game of Idleness for "怠惰なる遊戯". Think of it: 2nd one may fit, if you look at it after reading vol 3. --LoSs 04:58, 20 April 2010 (UTC)

hmm... Good-for-Nothing Happiness feels a little off... Flawed Bliss is more suited i think...

Ah, Game of Idleness fits much better. Thanks! I prefer Flawed over Good-for-nothing, though. (Good-for-nothing would be more accurate but I don't like the sound of it)

Well, from my guess it's 「王(０)降ろしの国」, an analogy of "King of The Hill". You can use some sort of localization like King of the Land/Ruler of The Kingdom, or keep it literal - Land of Discharging King. Another interesting suggestion: "Kingdom Royale". --LoSs 12:27, 20 April 2010 (UTC)

Out of curiosity, why was 一週間 translated as 'Sevennight' rather than '(one )week'?

Tenses

When editing Vol 3, Round 2 I ran into the problem of massive flashbacks/memories. Since the main narration is in past tense already, that turned rather messy and ugly. Therefore I will play around a bit with the tenses before I do any more major edits on Vol 1+2. When I am done playing, I will discuss it with Eusth until we come to a final conclusion on what tenses to use. At that time, we will update the guidelines. Then I will start with the beginning of Vol 1 again and go through all volumes until their use of tenses consistent (with the final guidelines) and they are fun to read. Or great to read, some parts aren't really that funny, after all. So basically there is no need for you to bother with this (yet?), I just wanted to let you know in advance that the guidelines may change.

Direct Thoughts (DTs) will stay in italics, though (or marked as DTs in the editing window, in case I didn't get there yet ^^)

Update: I played around a bit, started reading some western novels again and discussed it with Eusth. Since western novels are mostly written in past tense, we decided to keep UnH in past tense, as well. For now. Nobody seems to care anyway. Another bonus is that we won't have to re-edit all the tenses in Vol 3. For feedback/suggestions/whatever on this topic, contact Eusth or me in any way you like.

So, once again: No changes to the guidelines, we still put everything but Direct Thoughts into past tense, DTs into italics and present tense, unless inappropriate. --Kadi 15:39, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
