On Hair[edit]

About the hair thing. Fringe is the British/Aussie term. In the U.S./Canada we call them bangs. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fringe_(hair)

I'm an American so bangs makes more sense to me but it could work either way. DissmalScientist 05:26, 30 July 2008 (PDT)

Diss's Comments[edit]

Question for translator: "Moreover, faced with a situation like the present one, Horo would not make any divisions, but rather analyze the situation from every possible angle without omitting a single detail. "

Are you saying that Horo would not think about the math of the problem, or that she would not divide her attention, but would just focus on doing one thing?DissmalScientist 13:23, 30 July 2008 (PDT)

I changed 'thrice' to 'three times' and 'bosom' to 'in my arms' because it was Lawrence speaking, not Horo. Does Lawrence ever use archaic speech? If so, we can change it back.DissmalScientist 15:31, 1 August 2008 (PDT)

On loneliness[edit]

"A year passed alone was not as long as two people passing half a year together (note: I don’t quite agree, but then again I’m just translating what the book says...xD)."

This makes no sense at all. To make any sense, the sentence should be "Two people passing a year togheter was not as long as one person passing half a year alone" or something along those lines. The message is that when one has good company time seems to fly by fast, and the opposite occurs when one is lonely.
