Conrad: Monthly Asuka presents, an original work by Takabayashi Tomo, a special drama cd of the maruma series's 'Maou in the Land Behind the Mirror'[1].
Conrad: A summary of what happened since last time[2]: Due to a suspicious MA powered device of the MAD MAGICALIST Anissina, Lord Weller Conrad, wearing an Alice in Wonderland like costume was transported to a world of illusions, where he and his little brother the spoiled puu (prince), got separated from their lord Maou Yuuri, and are now wandering in the forest.
Wolfram: Conrad, who are you talking to?
Conrad: Eh?
Wolfram: And besides, don't change my name!
Conrad: No, I think that the readers will easily understand who the spoiled puu (prince) is.
Wolfram: What do you mean by readers!? And who are you looking at, here in the middle of the forest?
Conrad: Come now, you don't need to be so edgy.
Wolfram: It's not like I want to! Yuuri has been missing since he was sucked into that hand mirror. And after going to sleep, tired of looking for him, I wake up and... damn it! What's up with this outfit!? It's heavy and it's difficult to walk in it. Why do I have to be wearing this?!
Conrad: It suits you, that red outfit[3]. It's a shame you lost your bunny ears though.
Wolfram: Shut up! And what's with you!? Why are you the only one wearing those noble, refined clothes!?
Conrad: We're both wearing red[4], right? Besides, your clothes are as refined as mine.
Wolfram: I'll say it again, why am I the only one wearing female clothes!?
Conrad: Why not? It's better than Alice's apron dress, which I was wearing.
Wolfram: Don't compare this to your unsightly clothes! That was your leaked secret! It's the opposite of wearing an outfit against your will!
Conrad: Leaked secret... ?[5]
Wolfram: At any rate, what is this place? What is this world supposed to be? After falling asleep on the grass, we woke up in this forest.
Conrad: That's because you toss and turn in your sleep.
Wolfram: The way I sleep has nothing to do with this! No matter how you look at this, it's strange, right? While we were sleeping our clothes were changed, and in the forest there are strange guys loitering around. Is this 'Wonderland' so absurd?
Conrad: Well, I'm entirely guessing, but this is probably not 'Wonderland' anymore, say... wait, Wolfram. Is it true what you just said? about seeing weird people in the forest...
Wolfram: Why would I lie? This morning while you were still sleeping, I went into the forest alone to explore it. When I did that, lots of weirdos came out and tried to talk to me.
Conrad: For example, what kind of people?
Wolfram: What kind? Well, let's see. First, there were the twins.
Conrad: Twins?
Wolfram: Yes. Two men with blonde hair and hazel eyes, were in the hot-springs. They were both probably about 80 years old.
Conrad: Uhm... you're talking in mazoku years?
Wolfram: That's right. I felt like they were about the same age as I am. They were very tall and lean, and had quite beautiful faces. Ah! But of course, they were not as beautiful as Yuuri. And besides they seemed to have pretty bad character flaws.
Conrad: And then?
Wolfram: Even though they repeatedly asked me to get into the hot-springs with them, I considered them to be perverts and ignored them.
Conrad: Well, that was a smart move. I'd guess that those twins were up to no good.
Wolfram: And then, I kept walking, and that's when, from a high brick wall, I heard a seemingly important-looking man calling me.
Conrad: What was he saying?
Wolfram: He said "Your Majesty" or something like that, " Let's meet face to face and become friends". And then I heard: "I'm not interested in being put back together for fancy repairs"[6]
Conrad: A RECYCLE shop worker?
Wolfram: Since he was facing the other way I couldn't see him well, but at any rate from where I was standing he looked like an important person. In any case, since no one other than Yuuri should be called your Majesty, just by his voice, I judged him to be a weirdo and ignored him.
Conrad: His voice, huh? Then, there's no doubt about it...
Wolfram: Anyhow, this forest is strange! It's full of weirdos and no matter how much I walked, I couldn't find a way out.
Conrad: That's right, huh? But after hearing what you just said, I'm sure now. The same goes for our outfits, you know? This is indeed not Wonderland.
Wolfram: What? Then, where are we?
Conrad: We're in the Land Behind the Mirror.
Wolfram: Mirror?
Conrad: Yes, the twins that you met are Tweedledum and Tweedledee. The man on the wall was Humpty-Dumpty.
Wolfram: Those people are found in the Land Behind the Mirror?
Conrad: Yes, and then there's also our clothes...
Wolfram: What about them?
Conrad: They're the outfits of the Red KING and QUEEN.
Wolfram: What did you say?
Conrad: They're CHESS pieces. That's what the story is about. Back on Earth, there's a sequel to 'Alice in Wonderland', called 'Alice in the Land Behind the Mirror', I talked about it in Anissina's laboratory. When Yuuri was sucked in by the hand-mirror, I thought that could have been the reason. But I can't believe that she even put the sequel's DATA in that device!
Wolfram: In other words, you're saying that because you started babbling about this to Anissina, I ended up looking like this!?
Conrad: Seeing how things turned out, that would be correct.
Wolfram: You foo....!!!!
Conrad: Shhh! Someone's coming.
FX:*magic*
Wolfram: Yuuri!
Conrad: Your Majesty!
Ue-sama: Who are the ones calling me?
Wolfram:*whispers* It slipped my tongue.
Conrad:*whispers* We didn't have time to think this through, huh? It seems that the Maou has taken over.
Wolfram: *whispers*Will we be able to get through to him?
Conrad: *whispers*I wonder about that? I've never tried to COMMUNICATE with Yuuri when he's like that.
Wolfram: *whispers* I'm not good at this!
Ue-sama: What are you going on and on about? Who in the world are you?
Wolfram: Don't you know who I am?
Ue-sama: I don't.
Wolfram: That's...! (I can't believe this~!)
Conrad: *whispers* Wolfram, this majesty is a manifestation of a different person that appears when he's in distress. It's not his fault he doesn't know us, right? *to Ue-sama* Ah! Hello. Thank you for always helping us. I am your Majesty's servant, Lord Weller Conrad. And this is my younger brother the spoiled puu (prince).
Ue-sama: Puu? Hm... I think I remember hearing that name.
Wolfram: Why do you remember that!?
Ue-sama: Mh... wait. Don't tell me that you two are... the Red King and Queen?
Conrad: Ah, so you think that too?
Ue-sama: By the looks of those outfits...
Wolfram: I'm not a woman!
Conrad: I know! You're just playing a part.
Ue-sama: In that case, does that mean that you're my enemies?
Wolfram: Eh? Is that so?
Conrad: By the way, his Majesty is...
Ue-sama: The Black King...
Conrad: Black? Not white?
Ue-sama: Since I'm the Maou, it's obvious I'd be a Black King.
Conrad: Ah, I see... Well, it's true that Yuuri is always wearing his gakuran[7]. Mh... I guess a strange twist was given to the story. Let me see.. uhm.. your Majesty?
Ue-sama: What is it?
Conrad: Even though there are no people who need to be punished, why have you expressly manifested your royal powerful self ?
Ue-sama: That's because, this is the Land Behind the Mirror and because this side of the mirror, is the world that shows the other side of reality. That's why here I have to show the identity that's on the inside.
Conrad: No, that would be Inside-Out World...
Wolfram: Then, in this place, this is how you normally look?
Ue-sama: That's right.
Wolfram: And where did the henachoko(rookie) we know go?
Ue-sama: He was in the way, so I'm letting him sleep deep inside me. What about that? You, the one called Puu?
Wolfram: I want you to wake Yuuri up.
Ue-sama: There's no need for that. In this world, it is best to have a king that can keep things in order.
Wolfram: No, hurry up and change back.
Ue-sama: Why?
Wolfram: You know what happens in your own body, right? Every time that you manifest, Yuuri ends up exhausted.
Ue-sama: Oh~? (Is that so?)
Wolfram: Hurry up and do it!
Ue-sama: And what if I say I don't want to?
Wolfram: Then I will make you change back by force. Gh! Yuuri~! *grabs Ue-sama*
Conrad: Wolfram!
Ue-sama: Being only a puu (prince), you grab your lord by his clothes and look at him in the eyes as an equal[8].
Wolfram: Shut up. If you keep this up, you'll use more and more maryoku!
Ue-sama: *chuckles*
Wolfram: Wake up, Yuuri! If things continue like this, you'll run out of maryoku completely! Ah!
Ue-sama: That's right. That's precisely my objective. Unless all the maryoku is drained from this body, we will not be able to return to the real world, right?
Conrad: Your Majesty!
Ue-sama: That's right. I've been doing this all day long. I'll soon be reaching my limit. When I turn back , you cannot pity him. No matter how tired he looks, you must not allow him to fall asleep. Otherwise his power will return.... is it ... already time...? *faints*
Wolfram: Yuuri~! *catches him*
Yuuri: Mh.. mh... ah?
Wolfram: Did you regain consciousness, Yuuri?
Yuuri: Wolfram...uh.. ah...ouch,ouch, it hurts... My whole body hurts though...
Conrad: Are you awake? How do you feel?
Yuuri: Conrad? Yeah, I'm all right. *yawns* I'm sleepy though...
Wolfram: I'm really sorry, but you can't sleep. That's because we have to get rid of your power.
Yuuri: My power?
Conrad: You don't remember?
Yuuri: Yeah... my memories stop after being sucked in by the mirror. But say, Wolfram? I'm grateful that you're letting me rest my head on your lap but what's up with this amazing DRESS?
Wolfram: Shut up. Don't look.
Yuuri: Why not? It looks good on you. Ah! Conrad, you too are now wearing a decent cosplay[9].
Conrad: Yeah, thankfully.
Yuuri: Indeed, you look cool in guy clothes. And you know, I was thinking about this...
Conrad: What is it?
Yuuri: The next time that you want to be Alice, please, at the very least, shave your legs.
Conrad: Ah... I'll keep it in mind.
Wolfram: C'mon, how long are you going to lie down? Get up, Yuuri.
Yuuri: Mh? *turns around on Wolf's lap* Mnh! I kinda don't want to leave. *yawns*
Wolfram: Hey! Don't sleep! Because we're only moments away of going back to the real world!
Yuuri: Mn....
Wolfram: C'mon, Yuuri! *slap*slap*slap* Hey, Conrad! Do something!
Conrad: But he's so sleepy, I feel a little sorry for him.
Wolfram: Didn't that guy just now say that to achieve our objective "you cannot pity him"!?
Conrad: Well, yeah. Then, let's do this. Since he can't sleep, at least let's make it a fun! Are you listening, your Majesty?
Yuuri: Mnh?
Conrad: "Hey, hey! Kumahachi-san~! What's that on your face? Say, do you want to use my hand-mirror?" "Thank you, nogisu. Mh? Ah! That's terrible! I can't see anything wrong in the mirror"
FX:*cold wind blows*
Conrad:*holds back laughter, then laughs*
Wolfram: C-Conrad...
Yuuri: Uuufuu.... uuhh...
Wolfram: Crap! Yuuri's body temperature is dropping quickly!
Conrad:*laughs* And then, you know? I have a really good one.*holds back laughter*
Wolfram: Stop! Cut it out, Conrad!
Yuuri: Uh.. uhhh... I'm cold...
Wolfram: Yuuri! Hang in there! Don't fall asleep! If you fall asleep, you'll die!
Conrad: And now, one that is always funny: "The house next door got enclosed by a fence..."[10]
Wolfram: CUT IT OUT!

The translation would be: "The house next door got enclosed by a fence..." "Really?" (Also: "A wall?") "It looks good" (Also: "No, a fence")
So: 1) "The house next door got enclosed by a fence." "Really?" "It looks good", and 2) "The house next door got enclosed by a fence." "A wall?" "No, a fence" But in drama cd 9, Conrad says: "Tonari no ie ni kakkoi ga dekitatte ne, Hei... ka" In English: "The house next door got enclosed by a fence, huh? Your Majesty" So, he ruins the punchline.
