About Us

Baka-Tsuki (BT) is a fan translation community that hosts translations for light novels in the Wiki format. Founded in 2006 by Thelastguardian (初代 - 2006-2016), Baka-Tsuki has since expanded to become the largest fan-based English light novel agglomerate on the Internet. Apart from physically hosting 252 projects in 29 different languages, Baka-Tsuki aims to promote the popularity of light novels and serve as a hub to connect readers with fan translations of East Asian light novels on the Internet. Baka-Tsuki is not a translation group. Independent translators come to Baka-Tsuki and voluntarily upload their translations to the Wiki for public sharing. News & Announcements

17 May 2016 Site downtime May 20-22, and volunteering for BT executive council open The site (wiki, forums, blog) will likely be down for maintenance for periods of time between May 20th and May 22nd, 2016. The site will be completely unavailable for at least some of this time, and may have limited access (read only) for other periods, in addition to being fully available at other times. Exactly how much time the maintenance will take is unknown, but we will try to post updates to the announcement on the wiki as progress becomes more definite during those days. Additionally, we have started the annual process of looking for volunteers among regular BT contributors to join this year's executive council and help resolve/decide policy on the site.
