== '''About Volume 7''' ==

Hello BaKaFiSh, I've sent you an e-mail regarding volume 7 using the address that you have provided in your user page, about volume 7 of the Haruhi novels, but in case it doesn't reach you, I'll just post it here again.

I've registered for chapters 4, 5, 6 and 7 of the series, and I see that you're doing chapters 1, 2, 3 as well as the prologue. I was wondering could we swap chapters, so that we do alternating chapters? In other words, since you are doing the prologue, can I do chapter 1, then you chapter 2, me chapter 3, you chapter 4 and hence forth? This is because it would seem weird if I were to start translating halfway through the series. If we were to do chapters alternatively, we would be able to get through the whole volume faster.

If you do agree to the above, I will promise not to upload any scripts which are further than the chapters you are working on, until they are completed, in order to minimize spoilers. For example, since you are doing the prologue now, I will start translating chapter 1 but NOT upload it on the site, not even 1%, until you are done with the prologue. Similarly, when you are translating chapters 2, 4 and 6, I will not upload chapters 3, 5 and 7. You are free to upload any script anytime you wish, even if they are beyond the chapters I am currently working on. This is just one of my "translator's ethics" ;P

Of course, you have every right to refuse. This is just an offer I make to you, and if it makes you uncomfortable, please tell me and I will just shut up. If I offended you in any way above, I'm truly sorry.

Please let me know what you think, and thanks in advance.

Cheers,

== Comments in Brackets in the Script? ==

Hello Bakafish,

been scanning volume 7, chapter 2 (and now that i think about it, chapter 01 as well) and noticed that, when your unsure about a certain word, and sentence you tend to insert in brackets a small amount of comments since your unsure of the word/sentence. (Which I assumed were your handy work, if not, then just ignore this comment).

While there is no problem with it, can you please use the hidden tag for them?

*<!-- Insert comment here -->*

Example Below, (click edit to see it!)

<!-- so it appears like this! You can read this during edit! :) -->

so that when people read the script, or want to copy it it to a text file, don't have to read the comments.

On the other hand, if they wish to help out, they will clearly see the comments when they edit.

cheers Bakafish, :)

regards,

edit: just read some of those insert comments, and i can see why you put those in, because you were uncertain about the right word, here is a suggestion,

if you not sure what word should go there, put in a English word the closest you can think off, even if your unsure, then add the hidden tag, input your comment to inform contributors that you are unsure about this word.

if you have no idea at all, just put the original word, in either romanji or in hiragana, then add the hidden comment.

that way, the script will look clean yet at the same time, give hints for people to help out,

;)

:Very interesting, I'll try to remember..xD --[[User:BaKaFiSh|BaKaFiSh]] 20:13, 13 January 2007 (PST)

== Please Translate Faster ==

I'm sorry if I seem impatient, but I REALLY want to continue reading the series, and an unfinished chapter 1 in book nine makes that hard. I understand that japanese is a VERY hard written language and that translating converstion inherently laced with innuendo and allusion is very difficult. Still,at a translation of one line per day, im finding it very hard to wait. Is there any chance you could pick up the speed or get some more translators wokring on it? Thanks for all the previous work translating!

Edit by Jumpsyhoes: You're not the only one that's impatient.
