I'm just a proofreader in my spare time.  The Melancholy of Haruhi series intrigued me for its unabashed focus on the things that attract people like me to escapisms such as the belief in Aliens, People from the Future, Espers, etc.  Since I don't believe a series like this will ever make it to US shores in Enlgish, this novel translation is probably all that's going to be available.  Since the text is on a wiki, I might as well make the novel more readable for the next person.
