Ummm I do not know were to post this but is anyone going to finish Impact of Childhood 02 and 03? I just wounder because all the other volumes have been getting translated yet those two chapters in volume 11 have be abandoned due to the person who claimed them not working/posting any parts or removing there name because they do not have time/forgot that they placed name for chapter.

Well, I plan to leave them for now in case any of the other translators want to get some work in, as they're not necessary for the story. Otherwise, I'll finish them after the main storyline gets translated, or whenever I get the urge to. Lygophile (talk) 08:10, 23 September 2013 (CDT)

When is vol 15 ch 2 going to be completed? It's been a while with no progress on it. And it's the only chapter left in that volume. Has it been forgotten? Zero2001 - Talk - 18:22, 1 August 2012 (CDT)

thanks for the support Darklor. As for everyone else, I'm sorry for the slow progress for the past year, but I've got myself a job now so progress, unfortunately, will remain slow unless we've new translators helping out.

As for the links for Jap raw and Chinese TL, please drop me a pm at baka-tsuki and I'll pm you the links.

uh.... I've no plans of finishing chapter 2 since it's about the new president's observation of various students in Zuellni (as in, not really main plot related). I know, I'm getting lazy, but with the limited time I have, I'd rather work on the important parts.- blewin

Humbly requesting PDFs for all volumes yet to be PDFed. (ie vol 8, 10-11 and 15+)

Check http://www.baka-tsuki.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=58&t=4804. I think they're there. Lygophile (talk) 09:15, 28 December 2013 (CST)

Dude, that link is given on the project page. You think I'd be so specific as to give the missing volume numbers if I hadn't checked and they were there already? Duh.

I suggest looking through all the posts on that thread. I haven't downloaded them, but I see links titled volume 10, 17, 18, 19, ... with pdf extensions. Lygophile (talk) 10:55, 28 December 2013 (CST)

In that case, for the sake of others who would encounter the same problem as me, I humbly request the first post be updated to reflect the additions. Plus, the PDF of vol 10 is incomplete and 15 is not there, I'd like to request they be added since they have been translated now, as well as any other volumes that have reached (full text).

Hey Blewin just wanted to say thank you for the new chapters. I appreciate the hard work that you are putting into this. Moreso now that I am translating myself than ever before. So again, thank you! Catahn (talk) 14:25, 29 November 2012 (CST)

good luck with the translation! it's hard work, but you need to be persistent. Hang in there. - blewin

Can I ask for tips for TLing?
I've been trying to translate by myself in my free time but i don't know kanji and the pace is like 2 hours per page. Is this pace normal?

Any suggestions on tools or techniques to make this faster without having to learn the language?

Let's just say I bought the LNs then scanned the pages into jpegs.

Right upto now, I've been using http://www.sciweavers.org/free-online-ocr to convert the jpg to text,

and if it messes up the convertion, I use http://jisho.org/kanji/radicals/ to fix the kanji.

Then I just use google translate. I have a grasp of the grammar so usually I can fix the mistakes.

from what I get from others, it's quite impossible to get a good translation from google translator... - blewin

I'm working in tandem with Mystrael right now and I'm finding JWPce word editor to be a great tool for translating / transcribing. http://www.physics.ucla.edu/~grosenth/jwpce.html Makes looking up Kanji very easy once you know how they are structured. I'd also suggest using jisho.org when something is missing. Often times I find that there are words / combinations that JWPce doesn't have.Catahn (talk) 09:18, 9 August 2013 (CDT)

I would also recommend zKanji. Before that I also used JWPce, but ZKanji can even recognize kanjis if you write them (you have to guess the correct stroke order) --Luyomi (talk) 04:49, 30 May 2014 (CDT)

If you want to look up kanji you don't know, use jisho.org instead of some handwritten kanji lookups which are mainly worthless, Jisho allows you to search for kanji by selecting parts the kanji consists of (radicals). And if there are words you don't understand you can search for meanings at japanese dictionary sites like kotobank. --Krytyk (talk) 09:29, 30 May 2014 (CDT)

Kei Techniques
Have you considered putting in references for the technique names that you don't translate?

Like

or

or

I mean it was completely fine when they were being translated as Whirl Kei, Rot Kei, Roar Kei etc. or when they translated it in brackets, but sometimes you just get stuff like "Enkei Shoudan Sen!" without explaining that it's probably 炎剄将弾閃 (Flame Kei Bullet Flash) or anything like that. If it was just one or two cases noone would mind, but it happens a lot. D:>

<references/>

I'll keep that in mind. I do believe that Sakkei and Karen Kei are better left as they are, since 'killing Kei' doesn't really give off the correct idea of what Sakkei is (a presence-hiding technique). Karen Kei also represents a wide field of Kei techniques rather than one specific technique.

Ah, I had always thought of Sakkei as a bit of a joke reference to the so-called 殺気, except well, opposite, sort of. And mmn, you're right that 'killing kei' doesn't immediately bring to mind 'killing your presence'.

Volumes 23 and 25
I was just wondering what's going on with both volumes. I just finished volume 22 and I can't wait to finish CSR. Are they currently being translated? Is there anything I can do to help? I don't know Japanese, but if there's anything else I can do, just tell me. If translators need the light novels, I'd be willing to try to get a hold of them. I don't mind paying a little money to find out what happens. I'm to invested in Layfon and Felli and everyone else to NOT finish the series.

Hi, I don't think you need to make any purchases as the raws are available for download at unnamed raw sharing websites. Angelanime (talk) 08:16, 2 March 2014 (CST)

:The main problem is that there are no Chinese versions of Volume 23 and 25 yet and I can't read Japanese. Lygophile (talk) 13:51, 4 March 2014 (CST)

I don't know if this will help as I cant read Chinese but it seems to have a few chapters of chrome shelled regios translated and mabey chapter 23 and 25 are there also, here is the link http://book.sfacg.com/Novel/4045/MainIndex.html ,you may neeed to navigate around a bit first though.

:I checked, and they only have what's currently translated into English (no 23 or 25). Thanks though. Lygophile (talk) 11:26, 17 August 2014 (CDT)

Official romanizations
I've just seen at volume 18's Illustration's page that the dity of Grendan is officially called "Glendan" and queen Alsheira is queen "Alcheilla". Since this has been translated for a long time, I take that there's no intentions to adapt these official romanizations in the guidelines.--Kemm (talk) 13:17, 10 April 2014 (CDT)

:And, since we are talking about it, are you going to translate "Glendan's Lost Episode"?--Kemm (talk) 13:20, 10 April 2014 (CDT)

:The names shouldn't be changed. It's a lot of work, and they sound better the way they are. I'm not sure what 'Grendan's Lost Episode' is. Lygophile (talk) 14:22, 10 April 2014 (CDT)

::"Grendan's Lost Episode" is a series of short (2-page) stories that seems to be included, one story at a time, in each CSR volume, or at least on volumes 18 and [19--Kemm (talk) 13:11, 11 April 2014 (CDT)
