Can you send link to the original Japanese novel by a private message?

If original you mean raw, then my raw is the book itself, i.e. you'll have to get your own from your local Japanese bookstore or over the internets.

Thanks for the completion of Volume two, this volume really shook Houtarou's feathers.

Just an update. My laptop has died unexpectedly (am typing from a public computer), and it will take a few weeks for me to procure the funds necessary for a new machine.

As a result, translation for Volume 3 is now on hiatus until further notice. DO NOT ask when it will be updated. I intend to finish what I started, that's all I'll say.

Of course, new translators (committed AND competent) are welcome.

Is it true for additional-language-translators?)

Thanks for the hard work! Just curious, does the series end at 5 volumes, or is the author taking a break?

Great to see Hyouka getting translated, I really liked the anime. :D

I looked through the pdf version of volume 1 and thought it could be compiled into a pdf a bit better, maybe.

If anyone care wouldn't mind doing the same for volume 2.

It's not perfect yet though, I have some trouble with headers running into the page numbers in some chapters and the cover page isn't ideal either, but I'm looking into it.

I did not expect my workload to increase exponentially the past 2 months, delaying my intention to continue with volume 3.

With the holiday season coming up, barring another crash in my computer (knock wood), I aim to complete as much of volume 3 before the New Year. (That is when I still have outstanding holiday homework, as well as a desire to clear out my huge backlog of unseen anime archive. )

Hey there guys, thank you for all the hard work.

Now, I have something I'd like to inquire about. I'm currently reading the first volume and stumbled across a contradiction that doesn't occur in the anime, to be more specific, it's about locked doors. In chapter two of the novel translation, Satoshi tells Houtarou that none of the classrooms can be locked from the inside, but just 3 chapters later, Toogaito has his door locked from inside. In the anime, Satoshi explains that the doors can only be locked by key from both sides, which makes sense, but the novel makes it sound like they can ONLY be locked from the outside, which is probably more in line with the idea of preventing students from doing suspicious things like smoking.

Long story short, if it isn't too much trouble, Kinny Riddle, I'd like it if you could check that explanation of Satoshi again. It would drive me up a wall if that was actually an inconsistency of the novel itself that KyoAni had to fix. OCD and so on.

Thank you, and thank you for the continued work.
