Recently got my hands on two hilarious books, based on a popular blog of the same name.

As the name suggests, "Kanojo" means girlfriend, while "Fujoshi" (rotten girl) is a by-word for the infamous yaoi fangirls of legend.

The blog link above chronicles the misadventures of a college student falling in love with a pretty girl two years his senior while in a part-time job, only to find out his girlfriend is a hard-core yaoi fangirl, and his torment begins.

It's now currently being adapted into a manga, though my focus would be on the blog itself.

So far there's no English version, so it's doable. Currently, the author, Pentabu-san, has decided to end the blog at two volumes, so it shouldn't be too long.

Though this being a personal blog rather than a commercial novel, I was thinking if we are to do this, do we need to at least get permission from the author Pentabu-san for courtesy sake? Saying we have no intention of ripping him off and stuff like that, and should an English commercial version ever become available, we'll take it down ASAP, blah, blah, blah. Though I have no idea how to contact the guy, not to mention my Japanese writing skills is crap.

It is best to obtain approval, but in the case where it is not licensed yet and we have no way to contact him, then i guess we can carry on with it... but are there people who are doing this? @@

And if you can find his blog, maybe someone who knows Japanese can help you contact him? Anyone?

Well, since I couldn't find his email, I guess we can place a link to his blog right at the top of our intro-page, acknowledging his contribution to the whole thing. And also a disclaimer (in both Japanese and English) giving him the right to request that we take it down if he so wishes to.

Anyways i am guessing that most unlicensed projects are allowed on B-T, just that there is a lack of translators for the different projects...
We see many polls asking whether those novels should be translated, but the number of projects that are actually carried out are... you know...
However, i make no decisions, best to ask the higher-ups =X

Well? Is this a green light or no? I can work on this together with Toradora once September arrives. One blog entry at a time shouldn't be too tiring. Please help construct a disclaimer while you're on it Oni, I'm counting on you.
