「応援に来てくれたのか」== “So you're here to cheer us.”
Thanks, I've made the changes and uploaded the chapter to the main page. I appreciate the feedback. Although I'm surprised that no one noticed that I had translated Mizuki's name as "Mitsuki" -- I myself wouldn't have caught it if I hadn't needed to look up Honoka's last name on the terminology page.

So the good news is, chapter 5 is updated. The bad news is, I tried to update the updates page to reflect it, but it wasn't reflecting to the main page. So then I tried to fix it, but instead I managed to break the link to the updates somehow. So then I tried to undo what I'd done before, but that didn't seem to fix things either. So now a part of me is convinced that if I only fiddle around with things a bit more, I can get it working again, but a bigger part of me is saying that I'd better leave well enough alone before I really make a mess of things.

So both apologies and thanks in advance to anyone who can fix my, er, 'updating' the updates page.

...come to think of it, I've got maybe one more thing to try, but if that doesn't fix it I'll leave well enough alone.

Numerous translation issues aside, I also can't understand why this was translated as "ribbon tied onto the right wrist" when it literally says "wristband" in katakana. Did you guys translate this from a Chinese translation, or something?
A lot of it was, yes.

I have a question, it is written that Phantom Blow is outer systematic in Volume 13 Chapter 6, shouldn't it be non systematic instead? Since Tatsuya should not be able to use this type of magic.

Volume 9 Chapter 5 page 139

Tonight, they finally found the psion trail of one of the deserters, Stars Planet-Class Specialist, Charles Sullivan, call sign "Demus Second", and had closed to within an easy distance on foot.

Should be Satellite Class rather than Planet Class.

I have noticed something, in v4 when the head of No Head Dragon is revealed, he is called "Richard Sun", but in v5: The honour student's supplementary lesson, he is referred to as "Sun Richardson".

Is this correct?

I'm pretty sure its because one TLed with Japanese grammer and the other one was chinese Tled thus the reverse. I could be wrong its been a long ass time. Doesn't seem to bother 99.9% of the people who read it though.

Ok, but that kind of stuff is kind of what this thread is for.

In chapter 4 when Retsu and Mamoru are talking there are lines that say
Retsu and Makoto shared a quiet laugh.
Realizing that, Makoto involuntarily straightened his posture
Retsu did not answer the question that Makoto asked in a thin voice

Volume 11 Visitor (III) Chapter 15(?) page 131/283 on the .pdf format(in my version anyway) line 15 "After shaking his head at his sister, Honoka once more looked towards Honoka." Probably a typo?

I may be wrong about this, but I think there has been a mix up on what dispersion is. On the Volume 4 Preamble, Release is called Dispersion on the Slithering Thunders Description, while Dispersal is called Dissipation on Rupture. It gets confusing when you get to Volume 9, when Mikihiko talks about Dispersion-Type Magic, he is actually talking about Release-type. Release-type has to deal with electrons and electron bonds and things like that. I read here that Dispersal-Type relates to phase transition.

This seems to be the japanese Mahouka wiki. I just think it gets kind of confusing when reading, and types of magic just start changing names.

Volume 14 chapter 1: As he waited for the water to recede, Tatsuya used emission-type magic to shake off the moisture from his hair, skin, and clothes.

I don't know Japanese but shouldn't it be dispersion type magic?.

mewarmo990 wrote:Hey guys. Passing Japanese reader. Keep up the good work.

I found a translation mistake in chapter 0 of volume 1. It's on the very first page of the main text (page 12 of actual novel).

Wiki:
It is a product of neither legends nor fairy tales, but instead has become a technology of reality since a time unknown to people.
Original:
それが伝説や御伽噺の産物ではなく、現実の技術となったのは何時のことだったのか。
Pay attention to the grammar!

I haven't read too far into the translation but it seems to need a lot of copy-editing in general - just doesn't read all that well - but I'm sure you've got a backlog of work to do.
Thanks but if you are referring to the last part, this is not a mistake but a small liberalization on purpose. Please offer a better English translation if you have one.
