If any volume is in the Top 10 ranking for at least a year, you know it's coming. Don't talk about SAO, it's become useless, after all only the first volumes were good. No offense.
SAO is still quite good in my opinion. Though the anime wasn't as good as it could have been. The problem is most animes just can't do justice to the light novels that inspire them just like most movies don't do justice to the books. Taking literature and turning it into motion picture usually messes up multiple things. Hence I don't think an anime for Mahouka could ever do the series justice. Even the manga for Mahouka has problems due to the sheer amount of information that the series goes through with few scenes that are good for actually making pictures of to explain the information.

It'd be something as bad as Hidan no Aria's anime... lol.

SAO wasn't very logical because the romance started too fast. It's like a cliched story where the girl falls for the guy at first sight. If there was more development before AsunaxKirito, it would have made a LOT more sense. (And also revenue.)

Girls fall for guys at first sight... of Badass.

And Kirito had badass leaking out of his pores.

If by badass you mean plot armor, then yes.

I don't get it, sure it seemed fast but it's not like she saw him and then was in love with him. You HAVE to take into account that there are months between events (like the 6 months between murder case, at which point they added the other to their friends list, and morning dew girl, which is a little after their dating start)

But what Mine is getting at is that at the start for volume 1 we never saw the development stuff so it appeared to us that it just happened out of nowhere. Of course once you see the development stuff then it makes sense but that's reading the series out of order. Though progressive seems to be remedying that. But really the story was fine since it was given plenty of tells in vol1 about their relationship beforehand so the development stuff is to be assumed to have happened during the time not covered by vol1 which was a 2 year period.

Somewhere around there.

I've read the Progressive and Volume Two, but it seems that they must have had more meetings.

Progressives aren't even close to being complete yet. Multiple volumes worth if the author can convince his publisher.

So it seems an anime has been confirmed for Mahouka. Since I can't read the actual post about it I'll just link it here.

Hopefully the anime will actually do justice to this series but I just can't place my hopes on it due to the nature of this series.

Well it is a domain registration, thats for sure. Nothing seems to be on it yet either.
Not going to say you are wrong, it sure hints at it, but without being able to read it you are going to claim anime?

Nothing is confirmed. If the word "Anime", "Sony", "Aniplex", "Sunrise" or "whatever-name-related-to-anime-studios" was written, then it would be clear.

I pulled this off the BT twitter which claimed anime. since I couldn't read it I can't say if the tweet was right or not.

Yeah, that's just the standard domain registration.

It's entirely possible they're just registering it in an attempt to avoid squatters since they want to use it at some point.

Or it could be used to advertise and sell those Miyuki pillow cases.

Or possibly the network guys at ASCII Media Works want another domain name registered so they meet an internal quota, so they can appoint another network guy.

Or it could be that this list is entirely whimsical.

I'll just go ahead and throw this out there. Read about it on some page ages ago. That or it was in a dream, in which case, ignore me. The author originally wrote this for some literary contest ( the Dengeki Novel Award or something like that). It didn't win but he got attached to the premises and so started working on the following chapters as a web series.

An important point to take note of, the first web chapter (volume 1) was the entry he used in the contest. Given that participants are restricted in the amount of content they can sumbit, starting with the romance already well underway was definitely the most optimal decision since 1. there was a 2 year time skip, and 2. the novel takes place in the last month of the game, and a romance built grounds-up in such a short time period in a god-knows-how-manner is simply not as touching to the readers as when they two finally end up together and find out that the girl had been secretly crushing on him for at least a year now (cliche -admittedly) after he taught her how to finally relax and live her life in a death game. Doesn't have much of an impact if she only gets to relax for less than a month and suddenly fall madly in love with him just because of that. At least with Asuna, we get to find out later, that it started with a feeling of goodwill (Aria in S.N) that became respect (Duel on 56th floor) then turn into a tiny crush (after joining him in a nap) which then blossomed in the main book.

Also, point 3. web chapter 1 a.k.a book 1 was meant to be a One-Shot for the contest. One-shots aren't known for perfectly contructed storylines. They're drafts that get fleshed out if and when they get chosen for a series.
