Just spare me this kind of ending, anyway as it would hurt Miyuki too deeply I think he wouldn´t do this, and we can´t also forget, that Miyuki would be much more vulnerable after that (no matter how great the world would become).

I just wrote it off as the "protest vote"/joke vote. You usually have an option in contentious polls like that so that people who feel they must vote in every poll, or people who feel like trolling, can get their vote in... and then everyone else can ignore it.

It's possible they are since no one explained in the comment section. But since they actually are quiet similar (although partly because both their brains were altered), it is a possibility. I didn't vote for Maya, but still I don't think she's that much more evil/scary than Tatsuya.
Actually I think it they match quiet well. Damn I want to change my vote and it's my own fault that I can't.

I hope for Miyuki, I mean they were almost not siblings to begin with (referring to how they were separated so early on)

But if not, I'm torn between Lina (two strategic classes), Mayumi (although she'll probably be married off to another number if things keep going the way they are), or Honoka because it's pretty adorable how open she is about it, especially with the whole pixie fiasco showing her inner thoughts/feelings

Well I wouldn´t be wxactly glad if he ended up with Honoka (it would be quite boring) as for Mayumi, I don´tthink it is propable the writer will marry her of into another clan. The only possible candidate to marry her is Katsuto, but it doesen´t feel like he feels anything to her and (although political marriages are quite common in his setting) I don´t think he would like to waste such a good character as her (though I excpect something like her father trying to marry her of and her violently protesting against the marriage).

The most likely candidates for Mayumi are Itsuwa Hirofumi (brother of strategic class magician Itsuwa Mio) and Juumonji Katsuto. However in v12 Katsuto makes a decisively better impression on Koichi. Although she wouldn't want either of them, Hirofumi being to agreeable(v11) and Katsuto to sturdy/serious.
Also if the Yotsuba don't recognize Tatsuya's ability as magic, is it not possible the Saegusa won't either? Whatever reasons apply for keeping Tatsuya from being the next head of the Yotsuba family, should also apply to him not marrying into the Saegusa family.

Not exactly. While Yotsubas are a bit stubborn in their beliefs, you have to look at the fact, that he is a strategic class magician (from his inborn abilities) and looking at his psion count and other aspects (even his magic calculation area isn´t bad, just kind of used up by his magics solely) his genetic dispositions are first rate. I think as a candidate for Mayumi´s husband he would be ideal, not even speaking about the fact, that Mayumi isn´t the next head (for now) so the criteries for that shouldn´t be so extremely strict. As long as both sides (Tatsuya + Mayumi) show, that they wish for this it would be quite possible.
Though I believe, that the head of Saegusa might even offer his daughter to him in order to get him on his side (which would be unfortunatelly refused).

Yes, but you see that would imply that the Saegusa know about him being strategic class. Apart from that, I don't think his abilities would qualify him as a candidate for marriage. Someone who's a third rate magician at best, apart from being able to use some gram demolition, is not really material for marriage to one of the ten families. Also even though she's not the next head, she is going to be a world-class magician and therefor an excellent candidate to any member of the Ten Masters Clan.

Now of course when the Saegusa know he's strategic class and has Yotsuba-blood (he's not one) that could make him a candidate. But still that doesn't mean Maya would approve(or the next head for that matter). It would mean she would lose grip on him.

And I still don't see Kouichi letting his daughter marry a servant of the Yotsuba-family.

Of course, but well, Saegusa for the time being should already know about his Regrowth and have some inkling about Decomposition. That in itself should be enough. Whether they know or do not know about him being strategic class magician is still in the dark. The interesting question is, whether Saegusa wouldn´´ t offer him something along the lines of : "We will protect you and Miyuki form Yotsuba, but you will be on our side" kind of deal.

Very interesting indeed.
But perhaps even more interesting would be his response. Because whether the Oreimo-scenario will happen or not, it is still undeniable that his raison d'être is Miyuki and that he will only accept the Saegusa proposal if he thinks it would benefice Miyuki. And are the Saegusa able to offer them something the Yotsuba can't?
He would want to avoid the "meet the new boss, same as the old boss"-scenario.

The problem isn´t so much of what they can offer him, but rather what Yotsuba will demand. Though I don´t think that this siblings would ever deflect to the other side (though as it seems from volume 12 it isn´t even completely impossible that Tatsuya will go and wipe out half of Saegusa clan in retaliation against something they do to him and Miyuki).
