Actually, even though DxD is a typical mainstream battle shounen harem, it is overall a decent read with some interesting 'battle' ideas at times and can be engaging from time to time as well. The problem is the posters always make it sound like porn, that degrades its 'apparent value' even further. I'm sure those posters don't represent the majority though.

I agree with that. Novels that are translated regularly or at least more often than others need to have a sub-forum or else the Auxiliary Brigades will be filled with topics revolving around that one novel.
Current activity does not guarantee future activity. Project activity also does not guarantee discussion activity and value of discussions, though there is usually a correlation. However, Kira's point is right.
I personally think that more of the active projects should have subforums. Having no subforums can be a deterrence in itself for people (except for me) to create new threads that segmentize the discussions. I think the problem of having 'subforums with hardly any activity' does not hold, since we already have several of these. And also, I'm not in favor of downgrading existing subforums (I think someone mentioned it before).
