Uhm, could you control if this sentence from the story "What is a Heaven's Blade Successor? " is correct translated?

"Nevertheless, this young girl was actually a fifth year student and Zuellni and she was about twenty years old. Her name was Shante Laite and she was the vice-captain of the fifth platoon."

I think that part sounds a little strange... could it be that the first "and" should be an "at" or an "in" or something like that?

Yeah, you're right. It is meant to be 'at' Zuellni.

Meaning Savaris had cancelled the second Roar Kei attack.

“But because of this, I’ve gained some valuable experience. Nobody’s used this move on anything other than filth monsters, so this is what it’s like when it hits a human. It’s fortunate that Layfon isn’t aware of the consequences of this move.”

At first I thought it was a little confusing, but now I think I understand it, but do you know what is meant with the second? What do Layfon have to do with the Roar Kei, if it is the secret move of the Luckens?

Uh, with Grendan? With the whole city? Wasnt that heavy?

Shouldnt it be rather into Grendan or someone else than Grendan?

Firstly: If it's a secret move, it's always good that others know as little information about it as possible.

Secondly: I believe 'Grendan' refers to the electronic fairy (the dog thing). This is the same as how they refer to the electronic fairy of Zuellni as 'Zuellni'. I agree that this could be confusing, since the 'dog thing' is not actually called Grendan before this part.

@darklor: if you read lintence's lines at the end of the battle, you'll see that layfon managed to learn a lot of techniques aside from saiharden fencing, including the secrets of the lukkens(during the platoon match with gorneo, he uses the same technique savaris uses to kill gahard)

thanks, lygophile. "Grendan" there is THE Grendan - Electronic Fairy, just as Zuellni is also called Zuellni.

About Layfon learning the Luckens' secret technique, my conclusion is the same as giorno's - that Layfon learnt it by imitation. But according to Lintence, it's not mere imitation, because Layfon can "copy" the entire technique down to its essence just by looking at someone using it.

All hail Layfon the true genius.

Now I'm really interested in the match between Layfon and Savaris in the novel. Reckon it should be more epic than the one shown in the anime... actually, I'm not even sure whether the fight in the anime is anime original material. Does the fight exist in the novel?

it's anime original. they *do* fight in the novels, but it's totally different.

um... I prefer to leave it there for the readers to figure out. It's potentially confusing but it can be quite fun. Personally, I don't like the way these novels are written. They're always repeating the obvious. The style is definitely more "tell" than "show", so I quite like the "show" in this line.

Pouting and lips curled has been repeated. I believe that is the only problem in the translation.
