double edit: The more I look at bidgoosh the less sense it makes. Were you two even trying to help, or just typing the first thing that came to mind?

The second one is the name of a territory (in MnOtV).

First one sounds French. Probably Eugene Chauvelin. Second one is fine, but you might want to add in some Ls so help readers with the pronunciation. Maybe Parldu, or even Parldul.

I'm having a bit of trouble with this line here:

I think I have most of it figured out, but the "瓦斯" is throwing me off. MPGH says it's a loanword for "Gas", but "gas" doesn't seem to be making much sense for me in this context. Is there some kind of Chinese slang / idiom that I'm completely missing?

尔瓦斯 is clearly a name.

So the line is saying "You're referring to the matter of holding them in love and respect?" where "them" refers to a group of people including a girl/woman named 尔瓦斯.

Well, this demonstrates the problem when names are rendered using character combinations that could be recognized as verbs...
In light of the additional information, the line would be simply:

"Are you referring to the matter of Edelweiss and company?"

It does help if you make it easier for yourself to recognize the names of characters in the story, e.g. by setting up a terminology page.

Hi ! I have a question for Hyouka, chapter 2 (I know it's already translated but I'm reading the japanese version and editing the french translation so I wanted to be sure) :

西暦二０００年現在では未だ果たされていないが、広辞苑に載る日も遠くはあるまい。

The translator translated the first part of the sentence as : "As the year 2000 comes to an end". So it's in positive, but I think it should be translated in negative. In the context, it doesn't make sense to say that the year 2000 comes to an end, because school just began (in april) ; and the story is not in the future (like SF), but around the same year as our. (I don't know if you follow me).
And simply because 未だ + negative (いない) = not yet.

It's kind of a detail, but I wanted to make sure.
