Character names

The specific names of the characters need to be put down on the project specific guidelines.

now i know there's this silliness of calling "kyon-ko" or something, personally i think "kyon" works just well, as for "haruki" doesn't bug me so much even though Haruhi is a gender neutral name as well.

so anyway, just want to see a discussion on the official name ,so it doesn't keep changing every time a different author does a chapter/volume.

the page is here:

http://www.baka-tsuki.net/project/index ... :Guideline

As you noticed i just put a few names already, discuss and put down the agreed names and anything else.

Suzumiya Haruki
Kyon (fan-nickname Kyon-ko/Kyon-chan)
Asahina Mitsuuru
Nagato Yuuki
Koizumi Itsuko
Asakura Ryou

There you go.

I was going to use Erriotto or something similar for Emiri, considering I always thought it was supposed to be "Emily"...

why change it?

"Emiri" is a gender neutral name by Japanese standards anyway.

dkellis on AS pointed out that changing the names helps us think of the characters differently, and not as their original selves. Not that Emiri actually DOES anything in the story, but...

Besides, I think "Erriotto" sounds cool.

okay..... i suppose i won't be that bothered for minor characters, but i like the fact you read the same name and of course you expect the thing you know that character is going to do, then bam! its different! and its just fun reading how it goes in a different direction.

erm..... okay.....

hmm....actually that's not bad.

Still like the original, but if you insist on the name changing thing, i think that one is far better then the previous.
