Ayame wrote: I'll start translating in a week or so but I'm thinking of picking favorites, meaning I'll translate the stories I like best first. That would be some from the later volumes maybe? I'm not decided yet what to start with cause they are all pretty awesome :D
Let's see, Kazuma's (decent) Doppelgänger hitting on Ayano or Ayano's marriage interview or vine tentacles  or.... ugh there are so many fun ones!

Shall I do them in order? Write opinions bellow if you want.
all are good, as long as i get to read them all the order does not matter for me, gotta admit those do sound interesting

EDIT: Thanks Illustrations of Ignition 3 :P its kazuma in the picture isn't I cant really tell

In my opinion why don't you finish up the ignition volume 1 first, since there are only two chapters left before the entire volume is finished.

I won't have time to translate for a while anymore. Sorry but I'm busy with an internship. I'll see what I still have in my computer and upload it some of these days.

I'm so disappointed the author passed away. Really enjoyed reading up to chapter 6 :(

Out of curiosity, I noticed most of ignition was published after the original 1-6. Does that mean ignition is a sequel type, or are they purely just side stories?
Spoiler! :
And does the real storyline end at Kazuma getting a lap pillow from Ayano?
I ask because I'm quite surprised the author spent ~3 years publishing side stories since the majority has their isbn date after vol 6

Warning spoiler ahead!!

Yeah, that's Kazuma alright but the Kannagi version. It depicts my favorite anti-hero right after Tsoi Rin died, he awoke his power and he was saved by a Sannin/Hermit (the guy in the background) who came to the sacrifice site to kill Erwin. Alas, he was too late, Erwin was already gone. Kazuma became his disciple and when he felt strong enough (before he became a Contractor) he left the Hermit to kill Erwin, which he did. The hermit also gave him the Yagami surname.

Btw I have all Kaze no Stigma art-books so I'll post some awesome pictures for avatars that didn't hit the Internet. Unfortunately I don't have a scanner so the quality won't be the best.

Yes, from and including volume 2 of Ignition, all stories are post volumes 5/6 but not all stories allude to the main series. They are mainly Ayano/Kazuma exorcisms and various extremely funny interactions. I'm also a bit baffled by the way the author handled the story but you must remember that by the time the anime came out/volume 6 + 4 volumes of ignition he was already really sick so I suppose he didn't have the energy to dedicate himself to a longer plot.

The highlight of the series is the relationship between Kazuma and Ayano and perhaps he didn't want to waste time on secondary villains too much. But the author really liked to make Ayano squirm 8) and that was Kazuma's main amusement.

And no, the story doesn't end with volume 6. At the end of Ignition 6, titled A secret relationship, there is a tiny bit of novel 7, the way the editor found it after the author's death which continues three days after the lap scene with Kazuma recovering in one of Kannagi's hospitals but it's extremely frustrating to read because it ends in the proverbial mid-sentence. There are so many speculations going through my head and it feels very frustrating that they will never be confirmed or denied. :?

The reason for not translating anymore was because I was a bit disappointed by the lack of views on BT and if there aren't many people who read it I'm pretty much redundant. On the bright side I just saw Kaze no Stigma on the top 30 popular novels so maybe the situation is not so bleak. I'm thinking about what to translation-wise because the story and characters are to die for - no pun intended.

When you explain the situation like that I can see why. If I knew he was really sick while writing, I'd definitely like to see the progression between Kazuma and Ayano foremost. Although I'm a bit curious about lapis and almagest and how that turned out.

Well it's not like I can force you to continue translating (and I'm not sure if you're still busy working). But I really appreciate and enjoyed reading what has been translated so far and definitely would love to see the two's progression!

Edit: Not sure if the views are also counting the mobile app reads or not, but there may be that to keep in mind

Drool, Want to read so badly now :) , I have always wanted to learn more about kazuma before or after Tsoi Rin died since the anime and books only lightly touched on it

Don't bother with the Anime. except for Kazuma's uber cool voice there's not much to see. Reading the manga in much better. Although super short - it only covers volume 2 - it is much more satisfying.

As there are very few readers, I'm still debating what to do. As Japanese is my forth language and I'm not very good at it (I'm 100% European ), translations take a lot of time so I'm not sure if I should continue. We'll see.

I still have some short stories I didn't upload on BT and maybe you'll be able to read something new in the next few weeks. No promises though. :D
