MuvLuv Alternative -Schwarzesmarken-

Doing this by the book...

Image

Consider this an application for translating a good series.
I'm my own translator, from Japanese to English (and a comrade's doing the Russian version), and we have the books, so at least the project is sort of guaranteed to be active.

I'm linking the first chapter of the first book to my post here, and I've already done the last two FMP novels (and a couple short stories), so hopefully that can back up my application.
I'm curious as to how I'm supposed to contact staff members since it seems that I can't use PM and no one has emails in their profile...

To start a project in the baka-tsuki wiki you'll have to create the necessary pages...
It's not licensed right?

Shouldnt it be more like: "Добро пожаловать!"

Normally, yes, but what he posted is a joking way to say it, he's right.

I've contacted staff with an application email, as per the guidelines, I guess I wouldn't be able to do anything in the wiki anyway until I get their permission? Since I can't PM people yet.
And loliDragon there's volunteered to be an editor, so, as they say, yoroshiku.

Actually, go ahead, just make page too. The email is just to inform them. However, if you fail the guidelines, it might get deleted, which is unlikely since you got a chapter done.

Often is an approval only pro forma, when all requirements are met previously... ;)

Currently there are three volumes, along with a short story collection and TSF Cross Operation Schwarzesmarken & TSFIA Volume 5
However you can say this a series part of MuvLuv world, if you look at all MuvLuv books you'll find 22 of them I think....

Yes it is ^^

MisterV was doing it solo until till now ^^ (Jap -> Eng translation, there is someone who is also doing Eng -> Rus translation)

p.s. The BT page finally starting to look a little more like a real project ^^

Good luck to you guys! Hopefully you don't get burned out and just take it at your own pace.

I remember this series when I was going through Famitsu Bunko's lineup (because 黒鋼の魔紋修復士 doesn't get enough love, sadness). Out of sheer curiosity, how is this related to this project?

You're the first person I know who pointed it out. I guess you get one internet for that. Also you can pronounce the characters as "ganshou", hence the other name - Gunshow Translations. Makes sense, since the books I've done up to now have guns in them... eh. It's bad enough that I make a kanji joke, even worse to explain it...

We'll be getting around the third chapter soon, as far as I understand (I shipped the books to Comrade T, registered here as Timofey, he's doing the scanning), so I'm not quite sure where I am in the book.

Midchuria: no worries about me getting burned out this early. Two books in a month, now that was definitely too much, this is a leisurely pace, with benefits of double-checking content.
About Requiem, you know, I have no idea. Maybe it's just the second trilogy of novels or something? Have to look into that.

arczyx: it's more like photoshopped photos of assembled plamos. I personally am not a fan of them, but the comrade who's doing the russian version, apparently is getting them from Chinese forums or something. God knows, I'm not too fussy about presentation. But it's a nice story, not without its shortcomings, but better than most.

So I was fooled then... :(

Your kanji reference is too obscure, though. Highly doubt anyone would be able to get that :/

Well good luck with your project, anyway.
