The relevant (yet uncreated) page can be found here: http://www.baka-tsuki.org/project/index ... &redlink=1 . I'm not sure how to layout the page so could someone help?

The purpose of this thread is to discuss the names and terminology in Kikou Shoujo wa Kizutsukanai.

To start off:

魔王 - Is "Devil King" or "Demon King" better?
Also how should we translate 十三人? I suggest "The 13".

Characters:
赤羽雷真 - Akabane Raishin
夜々- Yaya
-------------
Will continue later...

Personally I prefer Demon King unless there are other circumstances.

"The Thirteen" would look better. Longer (seems more important; doesn't disappear), more balanced and the numbers don't disrupt the overall impression of text. Also, someone once said that it's better to not force people to switch to "read numbers-mode" when you can help it.

十三人 should be translated as "Rounds". As for 魔王, I think demon king sounds better

Eh, how? Or are we just using the katakana reading for it?

I'd say try to work the number 13 into the sentence? If the sentence is introducing a character as a member of the rounds, you could write something like "so-and-so, one of the 13 members of the Rounds". If you really can't, then I guess put a tl note to it?

Sorry, guys, I did deep shit when I first created the teaser page for this. Quoting Kadi...
Kadi wrote:Well, the Kanji originally read "Kikou Shoujo ha Kizu tsukanai", the tricky/contriving/clever girl does not get injured (kanji joke on Mechanism Girl, which is also read as Kikou Shoujo)

Furigana for Kikou Shoujo are マシンドール, MaShiNDoORu or Machine Doll. Machine Doll does not get injured

And then there's proper (?) English text on the cover saying Unbreakable Machine Doll.

So Unbreakable Machine Doll is the most... intended title, I guess? (with other words: screw you, Japan. Again.)
So?

The word "Rounds" is that from "Knight of Rounds", which mean those with the first thirteen top score.
Actually the serie is currently available in my language, legally printed, also using "Rounds".

Hi! I'ld like to apply to translate Vol 1 chp 2 of Kikou Shoujo. I have registered and was wondering if someone could give a correct translation of the title, "一瞬间的遭遇战" , a literal one would be, "Meeting Battles In The Blink Of An Eye."

I already re-directed him to doing Vol 4 since Hayashi's gonna finish Vol 1-3

Although he might take full monopoly of UMD in the future. Well, I think he will

Hayashi_s has expressed that he wish to do the complete translation of the series, and because of personal reasons(like exams....) I would be instead concentrating on working on the ZnT translations and perhaps help out a little with the teasers.
