That depends on whose definition. Here in the United States it is for sure.

No kidding. I wonder how someone can find any allure to something like that. I do not say this to judge anyone, but it occurs to me that for someone to find that kind of stuff attractive, they would have to have a rather depraved worldview. Some things no matter when and/or where should just simply not be done. Yet, it seems that society increasingly accepts these kinds of things.

Well, the problem is that the term "impossible love" is problematic already. Frankly, I would see "impossible love" as more of something like a man and a woman both of marriageable age falling in love with each other but not being able to carry it out because of their life circumstances such as work or the distance they live from one another. Things like that are closer to "impossible love" than downright incest. I think that people nowadays are quite mistaken to qualify many situations and relationships between people as "love." People have become confused and now confuse the terms "love" and "lust." I think part of the reason for this is that "love" has become known more as a feeling, which is much closer to the definition of "lust," which is generally definitively qualified as a feeling. Regardless of the reason(s) for this, if one defines "love" as "a willful act in deference of another," it becomes a mental activity that is grounded in reality by action. One cannot simply allow their feelings to completely control them; if they do, there is little difference between them and animals. However, if one defines "love" as the definition above, several problems go away. For one, such a willful volition eliminates the problem of whether "one feels they are in love" with someone, which can change on minute by minute basis. It also helps keep ones emotions in check, which have the potential to hurt another on a whim. In addition, love becomes something grounded in reality in a way that challenges people to make a choice about how they interact with others.

I agree with that, its more like taboo rather than impossible, for example its not as well known but the U.S. generally(in law) supports 1st cousin marriage. Its not impossible, but its rather taboo upon society.

Incest is OK from what Bill Clinton said for marriage: A marriage is a link between a man and a woman.

I do not think that using our former President as a model for something like this is a good idea...

Yeah, thats a pretty bad model there. Incest was more accepted in history, but its pretty much now that its taboo. Im wondering if its because we werent really fighting for survival now XD.

Somehow, I always use Bill Clinton as an example when I'm joking. Wonder why.

Also, when was the term 'incest' created?
