Oh you mean songs like this: http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm8965807 ?

I thought you meant those multi-song albums that slowly paint pictures like perhaps what a poem would do.

I would say you can try Astost too....but that site's by invitation only so it's as good as impossible to get in....

If you one the catalogue you can try to order it in....but it isn't worth it IMO unless you are going

Also....so gonna get these:

Uhm, not quite. That song seems to me like a reminiscence, a dream, rather than something that's "happening", and there is no change in any of the characters. Example of some songs I like off the top of my head that I don't consider in that category even though they seem close: 轍 by 天野月子 (no change), コネクト by ClariS (no change), R.I.P. by Bump of Chicken (no change, is like a reminiscence), Dream Fighter by Perfume (even though there's no explicit progress in the lyrics, it gives a big sense of progress. But has no story), タンポポ水車 by 牧野由依 (no change), etc.

So yeah, really the thing that seems to be missing the most is the "trial" and the "change the protagonist undergoes after the trial". It's much easier to just write a song about a scene or some scenes, but to actually put a complete story in one is tough.

Astost says "逢周三周六开放注册,请留意", so I'll have to try after another half a week. Even then it's invitation only? I'll try googling for some invitations or something then lol. So what's in it? Just music?

Also I don't like hunting in forums for stuff, I'd rather have some kind of catalogue/blog post to look through and then google for what catches my eye. Hunting in forums really takes forever and again unless you're really dedicated/bored you'll only be able to find the popular ones and maybe not the hidden gems that is not popular with everyone but is just perfect in your opinion.

lol I'm not otaku enough to fly all the way to Japan for Comiket haha

Seriously though, wait about a week or two, and you will see more fruit fall from the tree than earlier than that by a long shot.

It is like someone I know who goes to conventions of a different sort and almost always comes back saying, "It is going to take me half of a year to unpack all of the things that were there and that I learned."

ehh just signed up for astost, it didn't ask any referral or anything :\

It does have an anti-bot question in chinese that you have to answer correctly. I don't know if the question is different each time or the same, but anyways if you can't read chinese you can copy-paste (or screenshot) the question and I'll help you answer it...
