Weird how many IS books have been in the ranking.

Well except Haganai every single book in the light novel ranking already has an anime adaptation. Even for Haganai it has been confirmed that an anime is in production.

The same applies for the author ranking, where only those with anime adaptations of their works have their names listed in top 10.

In essence this is as much a novel ranking as an anime popularity ranking.

Is he just being a drama king?

Pretty much so. On top of that his endless fight with his editors is so persistent to the point of being amusing. The most famous one is the ぷっくく事件 (most of the stuff is too flammable and has been pulled off from the internet, but you can still find summaries online), while here is a recent one.

I don't care much about IS, but if he turns his fight into a book I will be the first one to buy it. It is always fun to see people trolling each other at a professional level.

I think IS will fall after they read volume 7. The author's stressed because he can't cook up a good plot? Or what?

Can't wait for Haganai's adaptation. I think one of the things that may be helping the sales is Buriku's art. I mean, as an LN reader deciding to read a new series, or just browsing the bookstore, that kind of art would surely pique my interest.

The plot was never that good anyway in the earlier 6 volumes, a little dip in quality(actually, it's not as much as a dip but a stale progress) won't deter the hardcore fans who buy the LN only for the moe-ness of the heroine(although I'm not sure if the girl can be considered moe)
