(Sorcerous Stabber) Orphen

Post by Darklor »

Some years ago I did read the manga, but yust recently I did get into the awareness of the existence of the anime adaptions and the novel origin.

So my question are, (if someone can tell) :
How much of the novels story is covered up in the mangas and animes?
How good or bad is the novel series?
Is there somewhere a english (or even german) translation of the novels (or at least a part of it)?
Please don't mind my bad english since I'm german.

Personally I am VERY interested in this series myself, have been trying to locate the chinese version of the novel but to no avail... Not exactly sure about the details of the series, but i did hear that there is a certain novel volume that had Orphen characters with Slayers characters in it... Do tell if anyone finds the chinese text? Or if anyone has the series to share, I would like to watch it...

You need not forgive me.
For those I love,
The violence brought about by sinful men
Shall now be used once more.
If you were created to save this world,
If there is a single shred of hope left for the future of mankind,
I am very sorry, but, please begone!

Uhm, could someone identify those names? and tell what their offical english name would be if they have one?
What I did get with goggle translation was
著者 (Author) 秋田禎信 - Tadashi Makoto Akita - I think this would be Yoshinobu Akita right?

(I had the idea to add those informations to the engl. wiki ;) but if you want to do it yourself, go one ;))
Please don't mind my bad english since I'm german.

What about the title itself (in Kana)?

You mean this? 『魔術士オーフェン』(まじゅつしオーフェン、英称 Sorcerous Stabber Orphen)- That I thought was obvious. ;)

Well, it might be, but using the name in Kana helps in searching. :D

Ah, k. I have those from http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E9%AD%94% ... 7%E3%83%B3 infobox ;)

Ah(2), Monthly Dragon Magazin seems to be right - but is now bimonthly http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monthly_Dragon_Magazine and 富士見書房 seems to be Fujimi Shobo http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fujimi_Shobo and Fujimi Fantasia Bunko seems to be correct, too - found this through the Slayers wikipage(engl) ;)

Ah(3), and 草河遊也 - "Grass River遊也" ;) seems to be Yuuya Kusaka - found through "Black Blood Brothers" http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E8%8D%89% ... A%E4%B9%9F and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Blood_Brothers

as it seems I had much luck today to find those answers for the questions by myself... ;) I hope they are all right, since I put those informations also in engl. wiki...

I heard that the manga is a bit different from the light novel, it's kind of different in order and a bit hybrid of the anime and the novel (more to the novel though).
I'm very interested if anyone want to translate this.. I'm eager to read this for few years already, but barrier languange always keep me hard.
