FMP Novel

Post by TheGiftedMonkey »

Beware the talking cat wrote:That is the problem with licensed novels: they take forever to be translated.

Shana is only on vol 2.
FMP, Strawberry Panic and Zero aren't even out yet.
(can't think of any other licensed series)

We can translate a novel in a month and a half(well, at least the SHnY ones), but it takes 5+ to get one translated officially.
The FMP novel is out, and it's sitting happily next to my FMP manga. 8)

*stares jealously at TheGiftedMonkey*

I would like to pick that novel up, too, but I just lack the means. I also would like to get the novel for NHK ni Youkoso and the Crest of the Stars novels. I am currently reading the Scrapped Princess novels as well as first Twelve Kingdoms novel. Does anyone know how far the first novel of FMP goes in terms of the anime?

Okay. Thanks. That puts it about episode 6 I think. They must have omitted a lot of content to fit in the rest of the novels then. I look forward to reading it.

GTM, i was thinking about getting the 1st FMP novel from rightstuf.com, as i allready have all 9 graphig novels, and i was wondering, is there any differnce from the graphic novel and the actual novel (well ofc more text) but do they cover more of the story that they dont in the grahpic novels?

If you're talking about the manga, the story is actually changed a bit in that. I would suggest reading the novel just for the sake of reading the original story. I never read the first part, just Sigma which takes place during TSR.

Novel - 2 No name assassin guys.
Anime - Xia Yu Fan and Xia Yu Lan twins.
Manga - 2 Goth-loli girls (twins?).

Well, they didn't explicitly state it, but Gauron called them Fei Hoong and Fei Jao, or something like that.

Sousuke's AS looked down at Kaname, seeming to say, "Welcome to my world" with it's glowing red eyes. This is the real Sousuke. You might be in charge at school, but here, you're a liability. One wrong move, and you'll be a bloodstain. Now, let's go through hell.

Some decent FMP fanfics. The only one I've read so far was "The Wait", and I enjoyed. I was thoroughly impressed in the accuracy of their emotions.

Hmm... Probably, this has already been posted but... Does anyone know how accurate/good the translations are? I'm considering buying them, but I'm really short on money and I don't wanna buy anything that sucks.

The first book was good, and there aren't any translations other than that. It was professionally done, so you can't get much better than that. :? The beginning of Boru-Tachi's translations start halfway through Day By Day, which is quite a few books in. So only way you are going to be able to read the story is buying them.

Agreed. Anything done for the Full Metal Panic and Full Metal Panic: Fumoffu! series you can kiss off as far as the translation goes for the novels done by Boku-tachi et al. By the way, I just picked up the first novel. I am excited to read it, but I am saving it for my 10 hour train trip next week on New Year's Day. Yuck!
