Binding a book! (Kizumonogatari) (COMLETE!)

Post by AClockWorkLemon »

Well, I'm a sad soul, and dislike reading books on-screen. Hurts my eyes and all that. So, i've gone to the trouble of setting out Kizumonogatari to print, and am in the process of binding it now. By no means is this an amazing job, but i thought you lot might be interested.
It's currently sitting downstairs between several chopping boards to glue the spine on, i'll post a pic of the final version when it's done. For the moment, here's a pic of the contents and the cover.

Please do keep me posted on how it turns out.

What are the general page sizes that you use? (I can make a steel bind holder to hold it in place.)

Also, where did you get it printed?

The book is A5, printed using perfect bind with 16 page sections (4 A4 Sheepts per section)
I printed it myself, it's on standard 80GSM printer stock. Cover is on Some fancy Epson Matte paper. If anyone knows of a good publisher thingy with decent prices for a single copy, and who send to Australia, please tell!

Also, tip for all you potential binders out there: Stagger the stapling on your sections. if you have it all line up, it can make a nasty bulge. I found this the hard way xD

Sorry for double post, figures progress update justifies it.

Spine is on, just needs a few touchups. Got some ConTact for the cover, hoping to get this finished tonight. might end up finishing it tomorrow though.
Doing touchups:

EDIT
Put the ConTact on the cover, it's all drying onto the spine now. Looks like it'll all be done by tomorrow morning.
Pretty much the final look of the book:
