Fate/ Stay Night

Post by Poke2201 »

So I started playing it... Fate route made me bawl inside. I thought Kana Little Sister was sad, hoo boy. :(

Why MUST FATE KEEP THE 2 APART?! I sure as hell hope Unlimited Blade Works Make up for this.

UBW is where it's at. Rin >>>>> Saber.
I never even finished Saber's route though. I know what happens in all of them, so I wasn't too motivated. I ended up uninstalling it because I felt guilty about not getting an entirely legal copy.

Saber was my least favorite girl by a mile compared to the other 2

It didn't help that Saber's route was, in my opinion, the weakest of the 3. It's not that the Fate route sucked but the UBW and HF routes are much much better.

If you're a Saber fan, you really won't like the HF route...

I really like how Shirou's character was developed from the Fate to the HF route:

Fate: Shirou wants to save everyone and the world even more
UBW: Shirou still wants to save everyone and the world, but not as much as before
HF: Shirou wants to save the girl first, everyone else and the world can wait

And for those Saber fans, you can replay the whole thing backwards to give her proper closure!

I still think is one of the best literature I've read that all three different scenario play each others out real well. To summarize what a Megatokyo person said about Shirou's development.

Fate: Shirou is an idealist. = child
UBW: Shirou is an idealist and a bit of realist = teenager
HF: Shirou became a realist. = adult

There is a growth in character and each route shows differently. God I feel so old playing this an year ago. It made me appreciate VNs more

I am patiently waiting for the translated fate/hollow ataraxia and you guys, the bakas, to finish translating the last novel of Zero. so long

Actually, some good people on Beast's Lair are translating Fate/Zero; we just host it.

I like the HF normal end. It's just like a happy ending, only the opposite.

I dun like how Saber end up in HF though~

This game is really bloody~ when I was playing the HF scenario I kept "WHoa! WTH!"

I like the UBW ending more (XD Rin is so Moe in this part)

It's weird that the UBW's normal end is a better ending than the true end
Spoiler! :
Shirou ending up with Rin +Saber + learning magic from Rin and swordplay classes with Saber + guaranteed sex with Rin (and possibly Saber) because she can't keep Saber around by herself

compared with:

A one way trip to London + lots of tsundere Rin + little to no sex + forced to keep awesome magical ability a secret
As for HF, the stuff that happened to Saber was to give Shirou more of a closure.
Spoiler! :
By killing Dark Saber, Shirou is "killing" his former ideal and acknowledging his new ideal of only protecting Sakura

But this conflicts with Archer's arm and it rejects Shirou, because they're no longer the same person with the same beliefs

This looks interesting though it doesn't look like we can pick a servant that's not Caster/Saber/Archer

Which sucks because Shinji does not deserve to have the new Rider, or any servant that summons cannons as a nobel phantasm

I've always thought Rin and Lancer would make a good team so it's nice to see them together

I might be seeing things but I think I saw different variations of the servants you didn't pick (ie. a 2nd Saber and Caster)

I was expecting it but I don't think I'm as excited as I was when the original first came out

Rock/paper/scissors isn't very fun when you have to keep track of all those combos

Would help if they gave us the new Rider instead of the original Archer too

I dreamnt of saber last night but it was like a bitter-sweet moment. We recently got attacked in our castle base so we were guarding the court yard (not yet king she is) and we were just chilling on the bench. I am not sure why but I was carrying a tree stump with me the whole time. I think is the stump that held Excalibur in it. But the way things were drawn in my dream, it was like the colors of F/SN mixed with the real world and it created this somber mood. Before I could even comfort her I ended up in a modern society in a shop where they sell robotic kittens and my friend Joe at the registrar was selling me burritos through games cases, then it ended. sigh.
