is it the costume or autotuning that kills you? I would prefer this over hip-hop, rap, and rb any day.

It is the fact that it is the very definition of what Steve Wilson of the band Porcupine Tree calls "Muzak." In other words, it is a failed attempt at being music proper because all elements of humanity and soul have been removed out of it in place of an industrial machine. So, for me, listening Hatsune Miku is like listening to nails on a chalkboard. In fact, I would prefer listening to the latter. At least a 20th century classical composer could do something with the latter in taste. Believe me, I do not like hip-hop, rap, R&B, or country either, but at least those use human performers and are not completely devoid of emotion and soul.
