A lot of it has to do with the anime groups doing the same show. The idea is if they can get along (read: a lot of them don't) and sometimes share staff members (read: rare). why can't scanlators?

At least it's gotten better now and groups aren't killing each other's IRC channels and websites/forums

BTW' TWGOK isn't the only oone from MangaFirst already taken by RHS. The onther one is KNIM.

Anime groups killing each other is pretty frequent, BTW. Though there are some dominant and others frail.

I honestly have never really compared base raws with cleaned images......though, I must agree scanning / cleaning is quite insane of an art.....certainly one that I will never get into.

I clean manga too, since in some small groups (mine is French, BTW), many members do more than one chore, and it takes more time.

I quite frankly doubt that MangaFirst is adding any value to the community at all, when they could have spent their manpower in picking up dropped series, or other unscantalated titles. Again, the point of wasted effort.

Though often, many are bored with the series (they are not dropped for nothing, usually).

From experience, the translation is the quickest, even if it's extremely well done.

Clean depends often on the quality of your scans, but also on the redrawal. There are some easy ones though, inwhich you only need to clean the text and play the gray.

it seems like the war means putting more resources on it, so that it comes out 2 to 3 days earlier than usual with the usual high quality cleans: 3 translators and 8 cleaners , so 169 is out
