holy sh*t. this is what I close to what i have in mind. One of my dream is to make a 12 episode anime episode directed by my top favorite 12 anime studio with my top 12 favorite directors.

wow after an awesome episode of 3 this feels lacking. more felt like filler. hinata's past was like 2 mins. whatever he is not as cool as tk. highlight for me was yui and the variation of the op. piano still better by far.

I like the rock OP's vocals a bit more than the piano OP's. Lia just tries too hard with the high notes even though she shouldn't have to.

It somehow bothers me that the vocals don't match with the character's voices. They really should have made Kitamura Eri (with writing that rivals Rasen or Realize) or Makino Yui (even though she'll never be able to do rock) the singers.

The songs might sound better too if they wrote songs that matched the singer's strengths

And I'm getting serious Little Buster vibes here

hmm this makes a bit more sense now. thanks to viral's post on RC apparently there is a light novel prequel with Angel Beats with Hinata as the main c. His backstory is covered somewhat. Here is the translation of the 1st chapter:

"We have no money or time to even cover the backstories of all the characters and since Maeda Jun is costing everyone in the staff 3 arms each, we can't afford to make a sequel or OVA!

But we still need to go over all the characters, so let's have him write books that will only cost us both legs and our firstborn child! And then let's hope we make enough money to animate the novels!"

Angel Beats 5:

Pros:
Easily the best episode so far, the directing has gotten a lot better
New use for jet propulsion!
Finally a GirlsDeMo song that doesn't royally suck (it's barely average)
We see more of Tenshi's (not spoiling her name) human side
Good drama and comedy is good, but let's hope they don't repeat the jokes like Clannad did

Cons:
TK had no lines (you're breaking the "fan favourite(s) must always have a line" law PAWorks)
Yuri has to be the worst leader ever - that plan did not benefit the SSS in any way and only confirmed something she should have known before the show even started
No matter how they justify it, they're really just bullying Tenshi
Tenshi got shorter (re-watch the melee fight from ep. 2)
Otonashi lost some manly points for not offering to eat lunch with Tenshi (yet)

Story kinda sux, though the main points covered... Tenshi is clearly lovable by all. Loved the death metal joke in ep. 4. Episode 5 brings out the ultimate emotions that anyone can have towards Tenshi, while showing the idiocy of every freakin other person around. As for the GirlsDeMo song, I, in fact, probably most, would prefer the other concert. This one sux, tho i don't mind the death metal girl. Comedy kinda sux, not being that good in a serious story.

Rating, 5/10? but Tenshi gets a high 9/10!
