What is an Esper?

What is an Esper?

Should I use 'Esper' for 超能力者? If I use Esper for 超能力者, then doesn't it mean I should use ESP for 超能力? Which doesn't seem to be right...... Or should I just stick to "Supernatural Power (User)"?

Here is the wiki article on it.

Esper seems to be the more traditional translation approach to that term. I guess it depends on the context that you are translating, does it not?
