in the novel, it is said that louise attempted suicide after saito died. did saito really die from battling those 70k? did louise Itsuki saito when she found him alive? (ZnT 2 end) how did she choose to die and what stopped her from dying?

No, he didn't die but lost the 'Contract Servant' between him and Louise.
-> when Louise tried to use 'Summon Servant' to see if Saito was alive, a portal appeared and she was convinced that Saito was dead.
-> she tried to jump from the top of the tower to join him in death.
-> Siesta tried to stop her but in the end both of them fell from the tower. But they were unharmed because they fell on top of a huge statue of Saito made of dirt by Guiche (just when he was about to transform it into bronze).

Yes, she thinks that Saito had probably fight the 70k ennemies alone and had died in the battle.

Guiche thinks of Saito as a close friend in the novel and when he realized that he was dead, he decided to make a statue of Saito to commemorate him.

Tiffania (the half-elf) used a ring to cure him when he was almost dead.

He didn't want to go back to Louise in this state where he can't protect her anymore.

so when saito died against those 70k he lost his power. when did he got his powers back? after louise resummoned him during her fight with sheffield?
im guessing that s3 would include this fact that saito once lost his power... hmm interesting XD

No, I don't think they will include the fact that he lost his power in s3. At the end of the second season we can see the Gandalfr runes on Saito's left hand -> it's the proof that he has the Gandalfr power.

well that might be however, they might add some new plot where saito loses his powers and becomes depressed, louise tries to comfort him but he ignores it yadah yadah... well if im not mistaken, there are some parts of ZnT 1 and 2 that contains a different plot than that of the novel... it is a possibility... damn i just cant wait to watch it already X_X
