Haruhi zoom in s1 OP

I couldn't find the discussion from back when BLR came out, so I'm making a new one...
Until yesterday, I thought the zoom scene played 3 (for novels, now 4) years ago, then I stumbled upon a site that said Haruhi's clothes change during the zoom... then I realized that at the beginning of the zoom, Haruhi wore an orange shirt and shorts exactly like she does in Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody (the light novel has the picture, too, but only in b/w). At the end of the zoom, Haruhi wears her North High uniform.
Which makes me wonder if the light - outstretched hand - big Haruhi smile scene is also based on an episode, namely Melancholy VI - when Haruhi sees the Shinjin and Kyon takes her hand.
(Does Haruhi wear that shirt and shorts anywhere else in the series? I saw it in the opening of Haruhi-chan 25)
