Volume 9 is still being written, volume 9 should be done by some time in february 2007.
Books don't grow on trees (material does though lol). Do you honestly believe that Nagaru Tanigawa can pull out novels out another novel in 5 months? Although it's true that he has released volume 5 about 2 months after volume 4, but fair portion of the short stories in 3 and 5 were written before the first and second volume were released.
