Kokoru Asami wrote:So was there ever any romance between Rina and Daisuke? As they sorta portray it in the show?
Rina did en up dyeing though right?
Sad....i liked her character...in the show
Rina "died" in volume 1... There were indications of some romance, but its hard to consider their relationship when one of them is gone isn't it? Besides, the relationship was one-sided, with Daisuke feeling towards Shiika, which is one of the reasons why Rina is gone I believe. Though despite Rina's "death", she had had several appearances in the novel, in memories, or merely in appearance(Not her really).

P.S. the anime mainly focused on volume 1, with some minor similar stories from other parts.

Although Rina died in volume one, but her dream and influence was past on. To be honest, i totally didn't expect a person who die in 1st volume to have such influence even in 9th volume and beyond...

To add onto SZH's analysis, the anime only covered 75%~80% of the 1st volume. It included characters from the 3rd volume, 7th volume, and some random people. However, they missed some of the important *chat* that will lead to the 2nd volume.

@Kokoru Asami,
If you have any further questions regarding the story or the translation progress, feel free to post them on C.E Mushi Uta's content page, where i visit very often =). Lol, i have a feeling you're that Anonymous on Jan 1, 2012 07:23 PM.

P.S: Looking for a place where i can post my Mushi-Uta fan fiction story, need some feed backs and comments =D.

A lot was revealed in volume 11 of Mushi Uta:

The birth of the "Original Three", together with the death of one of them.

Minor Spoilers, mainly about the plot, without much details(Names are clearly wrong). You can consider this as a brief intro to the volume:
Spoiler! :
Something strange occurred. The central Special Environmental Preservation Bureau is taken out. The entire city was engulfed in a mist, with no one leaving there, nor any communications. This condition occurs in several other regions.

Gekkou enters the mist to enter the city to find out what happened. However, the moment he entered, he finds himself on a rusty abandoned ship, and met a girl, with a guy(lower half of his body was gone, and half his face wrecked). The man called her Miiko and the girl mumbled to herself "We shouldn't have come...", "If we can go back to the past,------I should have killed all of you when we first met...Wang-chan, Casy, Lei",
"Because of us,"
"this country,"
"will be filled with 'Mushi',"
"and perish."

A horrifying premonition, prediction.

After a short while, Gekkou finds himself in the city, and meets a girl Miiko, who is chased by a strange 'Mushi', an incomplete one. And Gekkou, or Daisuke now, is unable to call upon his 'Mushi'. And they eventually meet Wang, Casy and Lei... What does this all mean?
After the previous spoiler:
Spoiler! :
After Gekkou returns from his strange ordeal, he wakes up just to find out it has been 2 days since he entered the mist. He woke up and got some information, mainly that he is at a bad location, that is about to be consumed/attacked. By what? He came to understand before long... White worms.... Yes, one of the "Original Three"s, held captive in central, has broken free.

With help from an unknown someone or something, Gekkou manages to get into the central base, and confronted with the holding leader of SEPB, and came to understand what it means to be an "Undying", whom he is classified under as well. Why is it that so many things happen around Gekkou? The answer is simple. He got it the other way round, he wasn't really a rank 1 Host, but he is the water tester to verify if some Hosts are rank 1 Hosts, a.k.a "Undying". HARUKIYO who will burn others to keep himself bright. Shiika who leads her new-found followers. Riina, whom despite death, places a curse on her followers. The silver Mushi, who can find a new Host and live on... And Gekkou, who survived all those encounters, and thus is classified as an "Undying" as well.

In order to escape, the leader mentioned that they would need the help of rank 1s. And thus, they started their escape, with the help of Shiika. However, after heading upwards to surface from the underground base, they found themselves in a white city. Everything in the city was covered in white worms... And the leader hands out instructions for the plans to retreat...

The commanding leader: Gekkou

However, Gekkou's commands were far from strange. To set up a protective area by just a few Hosts, but stay stationary. The only 3 Hosts with the ability to seek out enemies were asked to comb the entire city for the core of the Original Three that broke free.

It was a crazy idea, a crazy command. 3 Hosts, comb the city. Others, sit and wait for their deaths. After some time, people were angry, people were unhappy, people were in despair... An unknown pressure is upon them

"------ Have you all not feared enough?"

Daisuke's voice, placed itself upon the cries of unhappiness through the wireless radio

"Be it towards your own 'Mushi', or the 'Mushi' of others, you all must have suffered all kinds of pains and sufferings. To be tormented for becoming a Host, saddened and pained, and been through all kinds of situations. You guys had enough, and are sick of these right?"

Daisuke places his arms around his chest, putting up a standing posture.

Even in this situation surrounded by worms, he can still clearly recall it all.

The things that happened when he came a Host.

After becoming a Host, the battles, the injuries, and the days he struggled through to keep surviving.

Not just Daisuke. It is the same for everyone.

"One of the reasons why we became like this, is just before us."

The uneasy emotions slowly disappeared from the wireless radio.

"Now------ is the time to be angry."

Someone roared.

It was not a voice Daisuke knows. Perhaps it is a member of Central, below rank 3.

Yet that angry roar, infected all other Hosts there------

"------!"

The roars stacked up.

The sounds of the Hosts shook the earth, and stunned the worms coming at them.

There may perhaps be crying mixed within.

Everyone there------ No, as long as they are a Host, they would feel the same about those cries from the heart, and resonate.

Just as their morale hits the top------

The curtains are lifted.

Chilia's voice, became the signal for their retaliation.

"------Found him! Two kilometers from here, to the SouthWest! There is a small 'flame' reaction by the moving worms!"

Everyone on that isolated isle looked in the same direction.

Daisuke makes a strong leap, and lands in front of the combatants.

With that, he raises his knuckles, shining with the light of the Gekkou bug that fused with him, at the white worm army.

"All members------"

Daisuke's attack, crushed all the worms in sight.

"Go!"

The anger suppressed within the Hosts for so long------

Unleashed.
After tracking it down, that 'Original Three' took Shiika's body, the one person that Gekkou cannot attack, yet also possess such a strong power to exterminate all. Yet Shiika won't budge so easily. A long battle to save Shiika and destroy the 'Original Three' began.

After finally pushing it to the limits, it finally reveals its true form... Three big worms. One was taken down by the disciple of a deceased trainer(Change the density of things. He placed the density of the entire city in that strike.). One was taken down in joint effort of all the Hosts. The last one, taken down by Gekkou's final efforts.

Gekkou... Is it the end for him? Yet, cruelly, while people gather near Shiika and Gekkou, before they had their rest, the leader of SEPB declares to start the ultimate operation to exterminate the Host that is uniting the three "Original Three"s...
Gekkou seems to be dying/dead. His last moments were heroic, and beautiful, and his efforts, one cannot blame him even if he rests there and then. But the story is ending soon, and probably gonna end with a big bang. I love this series, really.

Lol wow, SZH-sama. That was some *amount* of spoiler dont u think xD?
Nevertheless, the volume was awesome. i wondered if Kanon is going to eat away Arisu's (Mushi) and awaken her ~~
Well, Kakkou was definitely near his end, prob one more battle, his mushi would either mature or his body collapse before that...
Well, excited to the next volume (prob come on near the xmas? as the final volume or something [the timing of the promise between the two])

Btw, SZH-sama, where did u get the idea of that host uniting all the Originals?

Chinese official translations, very last line of volume 11, the declaration was on a Host uniting all the Originals:
Spoiler! :
Codename: <C>
Personally, I am rather puzzled how that came about to. There was no real indications of that before that final sudden line. It seems awfully strange to me too. Did I understand something wrongly I wonder.

Not too familiar with the English names... But whos Kanon? Did I forget something?

As for Arisu, Arisu MUST NOT AWAKEN. If Arisu existed earlier on, then the Mushi battle might not even have gone so far!

In vol 11, a lot of the past is revealed(MAJOR SPOILERS! DO NOT READ IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO SPOIL YOUR STORY):
Spoiler! :
A scientist, upon the death of his wife, began research into "Undying", so as to not lose anyone precious to him. His idea and logic goes into how strong emotions, such as desire for food, greed etc, is possible to rise about physical body. His experiments proceeded well, but much to his horror, he realized that he was not the one conducting the experiments...

It was his daughter, whom he did not believe would be as talented, and whom he assigned to take care of the guinea pigs. It took him a long time to realize that, and far too long. By the time he realized it, his daughter has taken over, and he tried to snatch his work back, only to let the guinea pigs go out of control, leading to his eventual death...

His daughter had similar ideas, except, as you may have guessed, would be strong emotions for hope, or what we would call, "dreams". Her experiments resulted in a successful result, and 3 possibly evolv-able products. However, she had to keep them in check. On her way back to the ship where the experiments were conducted, she met several people whom she asked to escort her back. A timid boy, that was touched and cursed by an incomplete Mushi-Host. A spy/assassin to steal the data of "Undying". One of the members of the rich organization that funded the "Undying" research. When they reached the ship, it was far too late.

The daughter ran to retrieve/burn her data(I am not sure what exactly she wanted back then). The spy wanted to retrieve the data for his country at first, but interacting with that rich member, and him asking for the spy to join him as a family, made him think otherwise. While he does not believe that he should really follow this rich member, he decided that such research would put the world in crisis, and possibly endanger what might or could have been his sister, the child of the rich member (Revealed to be Arisu in the end). The timid boy wanted to find a solution to the 'curse' he bears, the only way he could survive. The organization wanted the rich member to salvage whatever information he can from the ship, to continue the "Undying" research.

On the way back to the ship, they met a being in a theme park. A being that decided to claim this theme park as his own territory. A being that was once royalty, but was sent abroad to be rid of. He then was used as an experiment, and yearns for the right and powers he should have obtained, the perfect symbolization of greed. Later on, when he is separated into many smaller fragments, his desire for his castle, made him materialize churches that would hypnotize people.

The timid boy, cursed, met a woman, feeding herself with whatever she could find, even butterflies. A woman that symbolized the desire for food... The woman that eventually became "Gluttony".

The spy met with a strange creature, a pitiful being, just before the ship was attacked.

When the successful result("Alpha") awoke from his slumber, he fired beams at the ship. And the final twist of fate began...

The strange creature, disappears, and as it disappeared, it merged everyone's consciousness and thoughts on the ship together, for a reason yet to be revealed, or perhaps because it knew that such a move would prove important.

The spy, had wanted a home, a safe world for his sister-not-to-be, and his encounter with the strange being, caused him to become a Host, of the same kind of Daisuke, but way more powerful.

However, without training, his powers were too strong for him, and his body took damage for every move. Furthermore, due to the great power he possessed, the King-who-failed-to-be and Alpha feared him, and attacked.Even so, for a safe world, he fought against Alpha, and defeated him, though failing to kill Alpha. He smashed the embodiment of Greed into small pieces and vaporized this embodiment that took the shape of many wriggly worms. He then sought to destroy Gluttony, but due to the twist of fate, he failed...

The timid boy met Gluttony. The timid boy feared death. The timid boy wanted to find a way to live. The timid boy... became a Host, the Host of "Undying", the bug that cannot die. The bug that can keep Gluttony living forever, as she can use the powers of any bug she created in the world.

Gluttony escapes. And the weakened spy was assaulted by the true failed-king, as he could actually take possession of another's body. However, the spy may have seen this coming, as he had injected his body with poison, leaving the failed king with a rotting body, thus setting his form for future appearances.

And so that led to the beginning of the Mushi war.

Who's fault was it? The scientist or hisdaughter, who started the research? The organization and its members, who funded the research? The timid boy, cursed by an incomplete Mushi-Host, and sought to live, thus allowing Gluttony to live and escape in the end? The spy whom, should he had been more trained or well prepared, ended the entire battle there and then? It could well have been just a series of coincidences, or fate, but no matter, their wrongs cannot be undone, and thus, the Mushi war has begun, and will last for a long time to come...
End of Mushi Uta Short Stories(Arisu):
Spoiler! :
As mentioned in a previous post, Arisu fell into a deep slumber, just like Mari. As she slept, she took along the "Undying" Host and his Mushi. This seals the "Undying" ability, thus making Gluttony vulnerable once more, giving a possibility of killing Gluttony once and for all, as "Death" is possible.
Which is why Arisu MUST NOT wake up until the series is over, or at least until Gluttony is dead.

Ahh~ just reread the last part of volume 11, i guess it did said that line.
Well as of how it came about, i guess there was a hint in the volume 10.
Spoiler! :
The *pretender* had visited one of the hideout of the *rich organization* and there <C> appeared and questioned her. At that time, <C> was in her golden goddess form (prob looked older). I think she purposely bring Kakkou into the past using the mist so he could understand what had happened.

Btw Kanon is that shorty on Volume 10 cover page, one rumored to have the ability of ending the war. Even if he was to awaken Arisu using his ability, her mushi and the Undead's mushi would probably get seal away, so thats one possible solution. But i highly doubted it, since it would break Daisuke's promise of awakening her when everything is over. [well id be happy to c Shiika feeling jealous cuz Arisu xD]
Well, SZH-sama, maybe we should stop the discussion, since it would pretty much ruin the volume if we continue. I still wanna give readers something to look forward to when i release chapters~

Too short for a teaser if you ask me... Besides, there is nothing said in this text. You need to at least know the characters, and the background events before it can even interest people. The only ones it can possibly attract are those who watched the anime as of now.
