I'm chrono732, username in http://www.baka-tsuki.org is also chrono732.

I'd like to volunteer myself to be an editor for English grammar and spelling for Zero no Tsukaima and Shakugan no Shana. I can't do much while I'm still a student in university. I've read the novels stated and I saw many errors, especially grammar. Though I can't read Japanese, I have a clear vision of what the story states after translated but there is the errors I have stated. Hopefully my proficiency in English can help repair those errors.

I would love to help. My username is gamesfreak26 on the wiki. I'd love to help out on the Kino no Tabi, Fate/Zero and Spice and Wolf novels. I'm currently a uni student so I'll help out whenever I can and I can read Japanese but only Hiragana and Katakana.

Hmm..that's a good idea, but now that there is mention of a entire front page restructuring, located here: http://www.baka-tsuki.org/project/index ... monogatari

I'll address the issue there as well.

People asking to become editors before they have edited anything is part of the reason I suggested making a FAQ. We can also add it the notice as well. The redundancy is probably needed for new people.

I am certainly interested in proof reading the translations. Especially so if its something I want to read anyway :P My wiki username is the same as my forum one (ie Shadow). I am slowly learning Japanese, but still a long way off actually being able to read it let alone fluently - but I am generally pretty good at picking up typos. This annoys my friends quite a lot - but I am sure it would be useful here.

Hi Shadow, nice to meet you, feel free to call me Shadow. And what are your interested projects, Shadow?

Hmm question... Would it be alright the proof reader isn't familiar with Japanese?

That would depend on the raws you possess. Though someone proficient in Japanese would be more than welcome, we do not reject other volunteering helpers. In response to your question, there are a number of us that rely on for example, chinese raws, while we translate/proof read, so it would be fine if the proof reader isnt familiar with japanese. And should you only be confident and proficient in English, you can be an editor instead.

Proof-reader = Someone who looks at the raws/actual text and try to ensure the translations are as close to the original as far as possible.
Editor = Someone who edits funny english/grammer mistakes etc.

Since we're translating japanese light novels here at B-T, I think it would be most efficient and accurate if all our proof-readers were proficient in japanese. Other volunteers can be editors instead.

I have English as a first language, I can edit English but not Japanese because I am still learning. I would like to basically help by editing grammar and etc to help make some project move faster.

Well, I've just registered but have been lurking around this site for some time. It's been pointed out that active volunteers are welcomed so I guess no room for me then. I've done a few personal JP-ENG & CH-ENG LN translations for leisure and ENG is my 1st language.
