Spoiler! :
I don't think he is necessarily interested in romance. He just asked Yuki for a book and she gave him one.

A more important question is: What is Yuki doing with romance novels? I thought she lacked empathy. She seems to have trouble reading emotions, so you would think she would be confused.

Since the title is "about the end of wandering shadows" I doubt there is a need for spoilers here.

Yuki reads everything. Besides, Kyon said it was a simple romance story. I think it's kinda cute she picked romance for Kyon to read. :P

Chances are, this is Yuki's way of hinting that she likes him.

Doesn't read too much into it - just the way harem stuff works. And there's still lots of Kyon/Haruhi chemistry going on.

OMG HAX

Just like how Fry's his own grandpa!

Hey could you be considered your own grandpa if your married your grandma? Or would the title only be given to somebody who did it with your grandma to give birth to you.

Well, in the movie "The Stupids" there was a guy who claimed that, there was even a song to go along with it.

Talking about infinite loops:

Let's say that you managed to build a time machine at the age of 17. You decide to take the time machine 30 years into the future, where you find a very cool watch lying on the table. without thinking, you grab it, and return to the present. 30 years later, you are the proud owner of the special watch, when one day it suddenly goes missing.

You suddenly remember that you stole the watch from your future self at the age of 17, and now the watch has been stolen by your past self (Read: you are supposed to lose the watch 30 years later). This raises an interesting question: Where did the watch come from in the first place?

LOL I've thought of that before, and the only explaination is that if you steal it, it will cease to exist. Sort of like in Back to the Future when that guy makes his own mom fall for him.

That STILL doesn't explain where it came from
