These references to Brian May and Mark Knopfler - were they in the original, or just western equivalents to whoever was originally referenced in this sentence.

When I first saw the Anime version of this (which was before I had read any of the volumes), Yuki's guitar work reminded me vividly of a part of the music video to Queen's song "I Want It All", where the camera zooms in on Brian May's fingers and they're moving so fast that they're a blur - so I was pleasantly surprised when I read the novel version and saw the same comparison.

It was indeed Brian May and Mark Knopfler that were mentioned in the original. If J-Rock singers were referred, I would have stuck a wikipedia link alongside.
