Volume 3 is coming out in March.
Btw, the writer is writing this part-time. He works as a fulltime salaryman.

Which isn't surprising. In fact a great majority of LN writers have their own full-time career as entrepreneurs or employees. Unless you work on multiple series simultaneously while consistently producing bestsellers in relative short timeframes, surviving on the 6% royalty is tough in a country with one of the highest cost of living.larethian wrote:Btw, the writer is writing this part-time. Annual income of publishing 5 novels (each priced at 600 yen with 7k sales*) a year:
600 * 7 000 * 0.06 * 5 = 1 260 000 yen
Annual income of a fresh graduate position:
250 000 * 12 = 3 000 000 yen
Annual income of publishing 2 novels (each priced at 600 yen with 7k sales*) a year, along with a full-time job with fresh graduate pay:
(600 * 7 000 * 0.06 * 2) + (250 000 * 12) = 3 504 000 yen
* 7k sales per book is already well beyond the medium. We are talking about an industry where 10k sales per book is already regarded as a hit. Btw the top 1% (Nishio, Tanigawa, etc) live in a different world with 10% royalty, 6-digit sales and miscellaneous income from media-mix projects.

I don't know Japanese, but from the discussion so far, I would think that a good translation for Riajuu would be something like noble, esteemed, respectable, venerable, admirable, or something like that. There isn't really an equivalent term in American English to refer to a person with those qualities.
WAIT! Yuppie! Its kind of old school or 80s, but that is what it means!

This light novel gives an Oreimo and Toradora vibe, not a bad thing mind you! I really liked both Toradora and Oreimo and still wait for at least the translation of 2 more volumes of Oreimo to start reading it .
Hope a translator pick THIS UP =)

It seems like he didn't add a new girl this volume, so number of girls kept to 3. *phew*.

Is the translator still active on this project? I finished reading vol. 1 and liked it a lot and and was wondering if anyone still was working on this project?

I regret to say that chapter 5 may be the last chapter I'm working on for this series.
