ugh...i just said that that SAO won't get animate in the near future in like a week or 2 ago and they just slam me in the face!!! UNFORGIVABLE!....or not
I would gladly get slam a few more time if a good studio animate this to be the anime of the year...not just season.

But I'd look forward to it more if SAO was getting hour long eps. It seems to fit that better than 20 minute ones. At least vol.1 anyway XP

And as recently announced, it will be 2 cour...so I'm guessing the 1st would be SAO and Fairy, then the next would be Gun and beyond, since they're on novel 8 there.

Though if that means 2 13eps, I don't think SAO and Fairy can fit in 13 eps, if they're gonna add some anime original episodes in. Rather, what I want to say is that both the SAO and Fairy worlds have so much possibility that I would be sad if they went and squeezed both of them in 13 eps.

I'm pretty sure they can fit in 4 volumes and The Murder Case in the Area story from volume 8 in 26 episodes
And then maybe have volume 7 as an OVA

The normal pace for adaptations is about 3-4 volumes per 13ep block. Since 2nd volume's stuff is relatively low priority when it comes to the details, I think they should be able fit up to end of Fairy Dance in fine.
Imo it's the end of Fairy Dance, when they reveal the MMO seed, that's truly the end of the SAO first arc and expositions the rest of--- well, whatever his overall goal with the series is xD.
